Costco Memorial Day Sale

Memorial Day might be in our rearview, but Costco’s Memorial Day sale actually starts well before the holiday and runs until June 9th. Depending on the item, you could score 20% off or more, but bear in mind that some of the best Costco deals are found online only — and those discounts only last until supplies run out.

For instance, now through June 5th, certain major appliances from brands like Whirlpool, Samsung, and LP are on sale. Depending on which appliance you purchase, you’ll get $500 off for spending $2,499 or more and $300 off for spending $1,999 or more. And if you’re in the market for a more comfortable mattress, Costco is offering $120 off a Casper mattress from now through June 9th (or as long as supplies last).

Best Buy Memorial Day Sale

Like Costco, Best Buy’s Memorial Day sale starts early and runs for a few days into June. From now until June 5th, you can get up to 45% off certain appliance makes and models. Other appliances come with Best Buy gift cards of up to $500.

For instance, the LG Smart Refrigerator is $900 off from now through the end of the sale, bringing the price down from $2,499 to $1,599. Best Buy Total members get an extra $100 off, and all customers get a free $300 Best Buy e-gift card with purchase.

Victoria’s Secret Semi-Annual Sale

Victoria’s Secret runs major sales twice a year: Once in June or July and once in December. These sales are even better than the store’s Black Friday deals — depending on the product, prices are slashed up to 80% as opposed to the 40% or 50% discount you’ll get in November.

While the Victoria’s Secret winter sale always starts the day after Christmas, the summertime sale’s start date is more of a mystery. However, sources predict this year’s sale will start on or around June 13th. To stay in the know, sign up for the Victoria’s Secret newsletter so you can take advantage of super-cheap sleepwear, swimsuits, and underwear before they sell out.

Get a protection plan on all your appliances

Did you know if your air conditioner stops working, your homeowner’s insurance won’t cover it? Same with plumbing, electrical issues, appliances, and more.

Whether or not you’re a new homeowner, a home warranty from Choice Home Warranty could pick up the slack where insurance falls short and protect you against surprise expenses. If a covered system in your home breaks, you can call their hotline 24/7 to get it repaired.

For a limited time, you can get your first month free with a Single Payment home warranty plan.

Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale

Like Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works doesn’t make a habit of announcing its semi-annual summer sale date in advance. But if you sign up for the store’s text notifications or email newsletter, you’ll score early access to discounts of up to 20% off, plus excellent deals on some of the store’s most popular items.

Last year, hand soap refills were just $2.99 during the sale. Shoppers could also take advantage of a buy-three, get-three-free discount on certain full-size items.

Last year’s sale started June 3rd, so stay tuned for the store’s semi-annual sale to drop around that time.

Semi-Annual Target Toy Sale

Twice a year — once at the end of December, once in the middle of June — Target’s extensive toy inventory goes on sale. You’ll find discounts of up to 70% on top toy brands like LEGO, Nerf, Barbie, and even Disney.

While Target offers toy discounts online during the sale, couponers recommend visiting a Target store in person to find the best deals. The toy sale usually lasts between four and six weeks, but visit as early as possible if you’re interested in finding toys from top brands.

Old Navy Summer Clearance Sale

Old Navy runs seasonal clearance sales throughout the year, including three each summer: One in June, one over the Fourth of July holiday, and one at the end of summer.

While Old Navy’s clearance racks usually hold clothes from the previous season, you can still find summertime items for up to 60% off during the clearance sale. Or, if your store’s clearance rack is stocked with fall and winter items, take advantage of the summer sale to stock up on cold-weather clothes ahead of time.

Sale items to skip this June

There should be a few more sales coming your way this June, especially around Father’s Day, but the six we listed above are easily the best of the bunch. And while we don’t have any specific sales to warn you against this month, we recommend holding off on buying any major electronics or summer-specific appliances (like grills and air conditioners).

Why? For one thing, most electronics are at their best around Black Friday (or, if you’re a Prime shopper, on Prime Day). Meanwhile, summer-specific items tend not to go on sale until at least the end of July, if not later.

So if you see electronics or summer appliances on sale in June, you might want to hold out for better prices a few months down the road.

Bottom line

Memorial Day is over, but seasonal summer sales are just beginning. Take advantage of the deals as they come your way to brighten your sunny days, cut your budget some slack, and save money on essentials.
