Southwest Airlines Is Offering 50k Miles Signup Bonuses (Again!)
You’ve probably heard of it by now, but the biggest unrivaled perk from Southwest Airlines is undoubtedly known as the Companion Pass (CP).
CP = Southwest Airlines Companion Pass
We’ve written about our love for these passes before, but essentially, the CP offers buy one get one free flights for the CP holder and a companion of their choosing for up to two years!
To get your own CP, you'll need to earn 110,000 Rapid Reward points (Southwest Airline’s frequent flyer currency) in a calendar year. Once earned, the pass is good for the remainder of that year and the entire following year.
The obvious strategy here is to get the CP as early in the year as possible, so you get this perk for a longer period of time.
That’s easier said than done because earning 110,000 points isn’t easy – in fact, it could take more than 35 flights to earn that many miles organically.
Luckily, there is an easier way to earn the CP.
You can sign up for a Southwest Airlines credit card and earn 50,000 miles per card using these links:
Normally after spending $2,000 on your card in the first three months, you would earn 40,000 miles. But with these referral links, you’ll earn 50,000 miles per card!
10,000 extra bonus miles makes a big difference in this case and they count toward the needed 110,000 miles for the CP.
Even better, you can signup for both cards and earn 104,000 miles after you earn the signup bonuses. That means you’ll only be 6,000 miles short of earning your CP. Since it’s so early in the year, this is the absolute best time to get started. Plus, having the CP makes those miles twice as valuable!
Here’s how it works:
While many sources are offering the standard 40,000 miles signup bonus, our links above get you an elevated signup bonus of 50,000 miles!
Note: There may be a popup that says the offer is not available, but if you wait a second, the 50,000 mile signup bonus will appear. Apply for the card like normal! If you are approved, and meet your minimum spend requirement, the miles will show up in your Southwest account.
- The minimum spend requirement is $2,000 in the first three months for each card. However, the sooner you complete the spending requirement, the sooner you can earn your CP!
- Chase’s 5/24 rule does apply to both of these cards
- The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Card has a $69 annual fee which is not waived the first year. You’ll also receive 3,000 bonus miles on your anniversary date.
- The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Card has a $99 annual fee which is not waived the first year. You’ll also receive 6,000 bonus miles on your anniversary date.
