Ipsos iSay is an online paid survey site where you can give your thoughts on a wide variety of survey topics, including technology, entertainment, automobiles, and more. Completing surveys helps you earn points, which you can redeem for PayPal deposits, e-gift cards, and more.

We found iSay easy to use, from setting up an account to taking part in surveys. The payoff for the time you put in isn’t necessarily the highest, but that’s how most survey sites are. The point is that you can use iSay to make a little money on the side when you have some free time.

Learn more about the platform, find out how legit iSay surveys are, and decide whether this side hustle is worth looking into in this Ipsos iSay review.

Key takeaways:

  • Ipsos iSay won’t make you rich, but it can help you earn extra cash in your spare time.
  • A 30-minute survey can help you earn 150 iSay points, which is about a third of the way to a $5 (500 points) reward.
  • You can use iSay from a phone, tablet, or computer.
  • You have to answer screening questions before taking a survey, and these questions may disqualify you from taking the survey.
  • Redemption options include gift cards, PayPal deposits, charitable donations, and merchandise.

Ipsos iSay: Is it worth it?

iSay
Pros Cons
  • Account is easy to set up and use
  • Points don’t expire for active members
  • Plenty of popular redemption options, including Target, Apple, and Amazon gift cards
  • PayPal deposits can take from three to four weeks
  • Screening questions can waste your time
Our verdict: Ipsos iSay is a legit survey site that can make sense for people who already use other survey websites. You can easily add it to your survey rotation and use it when you run out of surveys on other sites, increasing your overall opportunities to make money. But remember that iSay can have many screening questions that may waste your time if they disqualify you from taking a survey.

What is iSay?

Ipsos iSay is an online survey site that rewards you with points for taking surveys. If you earn enough points, you can redeem them for gift cards, PayPal funds, or charitable donations.

iSay is owned by Ipsos, a global market research company that’s been in business since 1975. Ipsos has more than 17,000 employees in more than 80 countries and conducts over 70 million interviews annually.

How much can you earn with iSay?

Although there aren’t any built-in restrictions on how much you can make with iSay, It's not accurate to say that your earning potential is limitless. Your overall earnings depend on three main factors:

  • The count of surveys you complete
  • The amount of time you have
  • The number of surveys available

When we first created an iSay account (which is very easy, by the way), we had access to five surveys ranging in rewards from 25 to 150 points.

We clicked on the 150-point survey, which took us to a list of screening questions. The questions took us six minutes to complete. Fortunately, we made it through these questions to the actual survey, which said it would take about 30 minutes to complete.

That survey ended up taking us only 20 minutes to complete. But if you factor in the six minutes of screening questions, that’s closer to 30 minutes. Not a terrible amount of time for 150 points, which is about one-third of the way to a $5 reward.

After finishing this survey, we checked for other available surveys. To our surprise, there was only one survey remaining out of the several survey invitations we previously had.

This shows that surveys can disappear quickly, which may mean other people are snapping them up. So if you’re not quick about grabbing surveys, you might miss out on opportunities to earn rewards that you can then redeem for gift cards and PayPal deposits.

How much do you get for your time?

How much can you actually make? From our experience, you’re not likely to be able to take as many surveys as you want because there aren’t that many available.

The number of surveys available may vary based on how you initially fill out your profile and answer screening questions. However, we personally didn’t see many available surveys.

Let’s say you can earn at least 300 points per week from just two surveys that reward you 150 points each or a combination of other surveys with varying reward amounts.

Example of weekly earnings 300 points
Example of monthly earnings 1,200 points
Potential time required 4 hours
Potential reward amount $12

Earning three hundred points per week with iSay would net you about 1,200 points per month, which is about $12 in rewards (500 points equals $5 in rewards). If the average 150-point survey takes around 30 minutes, that’s about four hours’ worth of time to make about $12.

That’s not a ton of money for the amount of time you may need to invest. But on the plus side, iSay isn’t a scam and should actually pay out what you earn. It may also help to keep in mind that this is an easy activity you can do in your free time. You can start a new survey while sitting on your couch at home or riding the bus or train to work.

How do you get paid?

Once you earn enough rewards, usually at least 500 points, you can click on “Rewards” in your online account to redeem your points.

There are four different redemption options:

Redemption option Payout form
Gift cards Virtual Visa prepaid cards, Amazon gift cards, Starbucks eGift cards, Target eGift cards, and more
Money transfers PayPal
Merchandise Electronics, small appliances, clothes, beauty supplies, and more
Charitable donations Support for education access

The gift card options include Visa prepaid cards and many popular retailers, such as Amazon, Target, Walmart, Starbucks, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Apple, Dunkin’, and CVS.

Money transfers to PayPal require slightly more points than gift cards. For example, you need 510 points for a $5 PayPal deposit.

You can also redeem points toward merchandise with the Ipsos iSay Market catalog. Redemption amounts vary, but rewards include electronics, small appliances, clothes, beauty supplies, and more.

Charitable donations start at 200 points for donations to the Ipsos Foundation, which helps promote access to education for disadvantaged children and youth worldwide.

What is it like to complete iSay surveys?

As an Ipsos iSay user, you can take online surveys in your free time to earn points that you can redeem toward rewards, including gift cards and PayPal deposits.

Taking online surveys is generally easy but can be time-consuming. And it’s up to you to determine whether the potential payoff is worth your time when choosing between different surveys.

After all, taking online surveys with iSay isn’t going to make you rich. In fact, you aren’t likely to even get close to making minimum wage by taking surveys full time. So it isn’t a replacement for actual employment.

But using iSay in your free time makes sense if you want some spare cash. It’s not hard to answer the questions, and some surveys may even be related to your interests. For example, we took a survey about streaming services, which was relevant to our everyday activities.

As far as requirements go, just about any adult can participate in iSay surveys. The main requirements are that:

  • You must be at least 18
  • You have to be a U.S. resident

Both requirements are common for many of the best survey sites.

How to make more money with iSay

You generally won’t be able to make a lot of money with iSay, as that’s just the nature of survey sites. But the following tips can help you maximize your earning potential.

Take as many surveys as possible

You need more points to get more rewards. Taking surveys is one of the main ways to earn points with iSay, so taking as many surveys as possible makes sense to pad your point count.

Setting aside time to take at least one survey each day can help you reach higher points balances quicker.

Refer friends to earn points

Ipsos iSay rewards you with 100 points for every successful referral you make. This is where having many friends and family or a large social network can come in handy. Keep in mind that successful referrals can’t be a member of your household or an existing member of Ipsos iSay.

Use a phone or tablet

You don’t have to carry a computer around to use iSay; you can use it straight from your phone or tablet. We used iSay on both a phone and a computer. We have no particular preference, but it was much easier to use iSay on our phones while relaxing in the living room or spending time out and about.

Having mobile access gives you more opportunities to take surveys, no matter where you are.

Take surveys before they expire or disappear

Surveys can expire after a day or two and simply disappear from your survey list. If a survey disappears before its expiration date, it may be because it reached its quota of completions from other users. So it’s in your best interest to jump on surveys quickly before other people take them.

Use your time efficiently

Every survey typically contains different questions that require varying completion times. But you always get an estimated time frame for how long a survey will take.

You may find that you can do one 30-minute survey faster than you can do two 15-minute surveys, potentially because you’re only going through one set of screening questions. You should stick with the most efficient strategy as you become accustomed to iSay’s system and surveys.

How to get started with iSay

The process for signing up with iSay is easy and straightforward. You can use most devices, including smartphones and computers, to create an account by visiting the iSay website.

Creating an iSay account only took us a few minutes. But completing our profile and answering all the screening questions to qualify for surveys probably took an additional 10 to 15 minutes.

You don’t need anything other than a phone or a computer with internet access, an email address to complete your profile, and a mobile phone number to connect to your account.

Here are the steps to get started with iSay:

  1. Navigate to the iSay website and click on the option to sign up or create an account. Enter an email and password, as well as your full name, gender, and date of birth.

  1. Verify your email address after submitting your details.

  1. Complete your profile by answering some questions.

  1. Part of completing your profile includes adding your mobile phone number, which you’ll need to redeem any rewards you earn. Note that landlines and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) numbers, such as Google Voice, aren’t accepted.

  1. Answer pre-screening questions for different categories to see whether you qualify for any surveys.

  1. Start taking surveys if there are any available.

Possible callout box: Note that survey sites typically collect some personal information to correctly match you with different types of surveys. This may include your zip code, income level, education, employment, the type of vehicle you drive, and much more. If you’re uncomfortable with giving out this information, consider other ways to learn how to make money.

Alternatives to iSay

Ipsos iSay is similar to other survey sites in that it’s easy to use, doesn’t pay a whole lot, and doesn’t always have many available surveys. So if you want to boost your earning efforts with survey sites, consider using multiple at the same time. This should give you more opportunities to take surveys.

Here’s a look at how iSay compares to Survey Junkie and InboxDollars, two of the most popular survey sites:

Ipsos iSay has the most redemption options, but Survey Junkie has the best mobile app ratings. The iSay app actually has quite poor ratings on the App Store and Google Play. So if you plan to take surveys from your phone, the Survey Junkie app is the better option.

InboxDollars is another excellent option. InboxDollars also has great app ratings, and you can redeem your rewards for PayPal deposits or gift cards.
