79 Banks Closed for Good Thanks to the Internet: Is Your Bank on the List?

The bank closures span 22 states and include J.P. Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America.

We all chose the banks we trusted most to manage our money, and for some of us, face-time and customer service were essential parts of our decision. 

As online banking becomes increasingly popular, more banks are shutting down their physical branches — recently, 79 more banks across 22 states have closed for good.

Chase Bank closed the most branches, shutting down 18 of them. Meanwhile, Wells Fargo is shuttering 17 locations, and Bank of America will close 16. Other banks affected include branches from BankUnited, BMO Bank, Citizens Bank, and Inwood NB.

The state is the hardest hit, with 19 bank closures announced. Ten of the 19 are J.P. Morgan Chase branches.
