Sandwich lovers are likely aware of Jersey Mike’s. Freshly baked bread made daily and toppings that aren’t sliced until you order have made the sub shop increasingly popular.

Jersey Mike’s has more than 2,700 stores nationwide. And nearly 300 more are coming soon, although the sandwich shop doesn’t put an exact opening date for new stores

Started on the Jersey Shore boardwalk in 1956, Jersey Mike’s — then known as Mike’s Subs — quickly gained a loyal following among locals and tourists alike.

In the 1970s, employee Peter Cancro bought the business. He still serves as CEO. Cancro saw the potential and started expanding. Today, Jersey Mike’s locations can be found across the country.

Cancro has a vision to grow Jersey Mike’s to 10,000 stores nationwide.

He also recently announced a partnership between Jersey Mike’s and Redberry Restaurants, which operates Burger King and Taco Bell franchises. The deal calls for 300 new stores.

International fans can expect to see Jersey Mike’s popping up in Canada and the U.K. soon.

Customers can order sandwiches however they want them prepared. However, the sub shop’s signature style is called “Mike’s Way.”
