Black Bear Diners Are Rolling Out in These 7 Cities

Looking for classic comfort food served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a cozy log cabin so you can stop wasting money on soggy eggs and overcooked steak? Then Black Bear Diner is your place.

Each location has a bear and log cabin theme and is known for serving delicious down-home comfort food. The company began issuing franchises in 2002 and has grown exponentially ever since.

Black Bear Diner has announced 14 new stores coming in 2024, but it’s unclear which will be franchises and which will be company-owned. These are the seven cities we know for sure are getting a Black Bear Diner this year.

There is already one Black Bear Diner in nearby Santa Clarita, but Canyon Country is slated to get an additional one soon, according to the company’s website. Details about the timing of the new restaurant are unknown.

Residents of Vista, Calif., will be glad when they get their Black Bear Diner; the nearest location is currently 43 minutes away in Murrieta. Other than the name of the city, not much is known about the where or when of this soon-to-be Black Bear Diner location.

Details are slim on the Garden City location, but it does not yet appear on the Black Bear Diner website, and there are no job postings for that location at the time of this writing. The only other Black Bear Diner location in Kansas is in Olathe.

The new Black Bear Diner in Harlingen will make the third location in the Rio Grande Valley. This store was announced back in 2022 but isn’t open just yet. It will be located at 6706 W. Expressway 83.

The new restaurant in this Houston suburb is scheduled to open June 4, 2024. It will be located at 4053 East Freeway. There are currently eight other Black Bear Diners in the Houston metro area.

Construction is ramping up at 2704 N.E. Bob Bullock Loop, a new location in Laredo, scheduled to open in September 2024. The building’s shell should be completed around May 1st, and it will take about four more months of construction before it is complete.

This restaurant, at 8614 State Highway 151, will be San Antonio’s third Black Bear Diner location. The other two stores opened in 2023. There are currently no available details about the grand opening.

The chain is open for business during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring a variety of home-cooked comfort foods, including pancakes, chicken-fried steak, burgers, and more. Black Bear Diner currently has over 150 locations in 13 states:
