One of the best-selling SUVs in the U.S., the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, made the list of top hybrids projected to surpass 250,000 miles. It's praised for its fuel efficiency, reliability, and everyday practicality.

The Avalon Hybrid from Toyota also ranked well for its ability to reach 250,000 miles. It received an overall score of 8.1 out of 10. It scored 8.1 out of 10 for reliability, 8.2 out of 10 for value retention, and 8 out of 10 for safety.

The original Camry has been one of the best-selling cars in the United States for years, with a reputation for reliability, durability, and fuel efficiency. According to Toyota, the 2026 Camry Hybrid is engineered for efficiency, featuring an all-hybrid powertrain with a combined EPA-estimated MPG rating of up to 51.

You may notice the big drop between the top-ranked hybrid and the one that came in second place. The Lexus RX Hybrid has a 17% chance of lasting 250,000 miles or more, although to those in the know, it may be no surprise that a Lexus finished high on this list. The brand is known for reliability, luxury, and strong resale value.

For the 2026 Lexus RX Hybrid, there are six trims starting at $53,475. This luxury SUV has an estimated combined fuel economy of 36 MPG.

Toyota Highlander Hybrid

Compared to average: 3.2x

When it comes to a hybrid that's likely to reach at least a quarter of a million miles, the Toyota Highlander Hybrid came out on top. In fact, with a 31% chance of lasting at least that many miles, the Highlander Hybrid was a clear winner.

There's more good news if you're thinking about buying the Highlander Hybrid. It ranks well for reliability (8.5 out of 10), value retention (8.6 out of 10), and safety (8 out of 10).
