To get more out of your Costco membership, I highly recommend doing your holiday shopping at everyone's favorite big box superstore. You'll get everything you need to make your Christmas merry and bright, from Christmas dinner stars to gift boxes that punch way above their price point.

As any Costco enthusiast knows, the holidays bring a seemingly endless array of delicious treats, both sweet and savory. After sampling countless offerings, these are the standout goodies that truly made the Christmas cut.

Runner Up: Kirkland Signature Peppermint Bark

Courtesy of Costco peppermint bark

Price: $19.28

Few flavor combinations conjure the spirit of Christmas more than white and dark chocolate laced with refreshing peppermint candy sprinkles.

This 24-count box is just as beloved by Redditors as it is by me, giving the Williams-Sonoma brand a run for its money. Their version costs $34.95, and that's just for the small tin.

Runner Up: Sarah Farms Egg Nog

Courtesy of Costco sarah farms egg nob

Price: $6.23

Sixty-four ounces of eggnog may seem like a lot. However, this iconic holiday beverage goes down a little too easily for everyone at any party I attend, whether spiked or solo.

As a bonus, I appreciate supporting family-owned farms like Sarah Farms, especially around the holidays.

Runner Up: Kirkland Signature Spiral Sliced Ham

Courtesy of Costco spiral sliced ham

Price: $2.38 per pound

Ham is a staple on many Christmas tables, and spiral hams are a win for me for two reasons: ease of preparation and crowd-pleasing texture and flavor.

At $2.83 per pound, it even beats Walmart's price of $3.98 for a comparable product.

Runner Up: A.L. Schutzman Gourmet Caramel Corn Tins

Courtesy of Costco gourmet caramel corn tins

Price: $44.99

Caramel-covered popcorn served in cute, festive holiday tins? Yes, please, especially for munchable holiday snacks for the coffee table.

"People gobbled it up," one reviewer noted. I argue we'll all hear this phrase in our households when we serve this holiday classic.

Runner Up: Borgo de Medici Assorted Mini Panettone, Variety Pack

Courtesy of Costco assorted mini panettone variety pack

Price: $27.99

Noshing on Panettone is a tradition in many Italian homes, but it always puts me in the holiday mood as well.

This 9-pack of the famed sweet bread comes in three different flavors: classic, pistachio cream, and limoncello. Like reviewers, I appreciate the individual wrapping for the freshness factor.

Runner Up: Kirkland Signature Pumpkin Pie

Courtesy of Costco pumpkin pie

Price: $6.80

Based on sheer value alone, this 58-ounce pumpkin pie is a holiday must-have in my home when hosting, as it easily feeds a crowd.

The flavor is also a selling point, though I'd argue this dessert is best served with a generous portion of whipped cream.

Runner Up: Kirkland Signature Shrimp Cocktail with Cocktail Sauce & Lemon

Courtesy of Costco shrimp cocktail with sauce lemon

Price: $12.47 per pound

Shrimp platters are always a crowd-pleaser, and a healthy one, which I always welcome during the indulgent holiday season.

At this price, with lemon and cocktail sauce included, plus the shrimp fully cooked, prepped, and deveined, it's an easy and affordable option for holiday gatherings.

Rummer Up: Texas Tamale Co. Pork Tamales

Courtesy of Costco co pork tamales

Price: $89.99

Nothing says Christmas like tamales in Mexican-American and Tex-Mex kitchens, ideally homemade. Every year, I try to find a tamale connection to enjoy.

While one could argue nothing beats homemade, this 72-count box of 12 pork tamales will do the trick. Plus, all you have to do is heat them up.

Runner Up: Fotis Baked Brie with Fig Jam & Chopped Walnuts

Courtesy of Costco baked brie with fig jam chopped walnuts

Price: $14.74

As far as holiday appetizers go, baked brie is among the most decadent and irresistible, all while looking swanky and gourmet on your table.

This 22-ounce package with fig jam and chopped walnuts is a much better deal than the 14-ounce Plain Baked Brie at Williams Sonoma that costs $59.95.

Runner Up: Godiva & More Holiday Tower

Courtesy of Costco godiva more holiday tower

Price: $39.99

Godiva is one of the most famous chocolate brands in the world, and with good reason: It's delicious. I, along with thousands of other reviewers, agree.

This holiday tower is a true smorgasbord of 26 goodies from around the world that are great for sharing with loved ones all season long.

Runner Up: The Fruit Company Celebration 8-Box Tower

Courtesy of Costco fruit company celebration 8 box tower

Price: $59.99

This gorgeous tower with pears and apples sourced from Hood River, Oregon, along with accompanying sweet treats like cookies and truffle bites, is one of my favorite Costco holiday gifts.

Over 6,600 reviewers have weighed in on this beautifully packaged product.

Winner: David's Cookies Butter Pecan Meltaways

Courtesy of Costco davids cookies butter pecan meltaways

Price: $39.99 (on sale from $49.99)

The clear winner on my list of Costco Christmas foods, thanks to over 11,000 4.7-star reviews and their addictive flavor, is these butter pecan meltaways. Trust me, you'll be hooked too.

"They are hard to stop eating," one reviewer proclaimed. "They are the best shortbread cookies I have ever had and I am going to buy them every year as long as Costco keeps selling them." Same here!

Bottom line

Eduardo Barraza/Adobe costco wholesale gas station

Shopping for Christmas foods at Costco is one of my favorite ways to get ready for the holiday season. There are so many irresistible goodies to choose from, and while the entire lineup is delicious, my top pick is one I'm confident will become your favorite, too.

I stretch my savings even further by paying with one of the best cash back credit cards available at checkout time. Combined with Costco's already low prices, it means I'm keeping more money in my pocket for all the Christmas gifts I still need to buy.
