I’ve Tried Dozens of Sam’s Club Soups, and This One Is the Best

Saving money at Sam's Club is easy year-round, which is why so many of us have a membership to the bulk retailer. It doesn't hurt that the store's house brand, Member's Mark, holds its own against stalwart competitors with long-standing reputations.

With soup season officially here (one of my favorite times of year), it's the perfect moment to dig into the comforting, savory bowls that make up Sam'sClub's soup selection. These are the flavors that had me going back for a second helping every time.

Jumping in with a classic flavor profile, this 2-pack of 24-ounce containers delivers on the richness and creaminess I'd expect. The broth has a marsala-like flavor, and there are plenty of vegetables.

The only thing missing? It could use more chicken to balance the broth and supporting cast.

But Sam's Club comes through here, surprisingly, with a soup that's smooth and not overly fishy. The lobster chunks seal the deal, though, of course, I always want more.

There's something super smart about presenting this 38-ounce serving of soup as a kit: It lets the cheese get gooey and keeps the croutons crunchy. It also keeps your dishes clean.

The broth has a rich, peppery flavor that I, and other reviewers, love. Prep it in the oven (instead of the microwave) for the best results.

Panera might have the reputation for the best broccoli cheddar soup out there, but I'm giving the crown to Sam's Club. You could be fooled in a taste test, but you'll pay more at the former.

The broth is perfectly cheesy, the vegetables are sliced (or julienned) just right, and the flavor is simply delicious.

Creamy, sweet, and perfectly autumnal, this soup is Sam's Club's best, and the internet overwhelmingly agrees with me. "Seriously this soup is better than what I get in upscale restaurants," one reviewer gushed.
