If you're a coffee drinker, you've probably heard of 7 Brew by now.

Named the fastest-growing brand in the U.S. by a recent Yelp report, the drive-thru beverage chain is a social media phenomenon and a tried-and-true favorite among the caffeine-addicted.

In order to keep up with demand and better serve its thousands of thirsty fans, 7 Brew recently announced that it would be adding more than 50 new locations across roughly 31 states this October, giving thousands of new consumers in the South and Midwest more opportunities to eat out.

Whether you're a 7 Brew loyalist or a curious first-timer, here's what you can expect from the coffee company's latest wave of openings.

From one Arkansas stand to 900+ locations

For any brand, adding 50 new locations in a single month would be a major achievement. But it's even more remarkable for 7 Brew considering how recently the company was started.

The first 7 Brew stand opened in Rogers, Arkansas, in 2017. The original concept was simple: a compact drive-thru where customers could get coffee and other drinks quickly, with a heavy emphasis on customization.

The business began accelerating dramatically in the early 2020s. 7 Brew had just 14 locations at the beginning of 2022, but topped 600 by the close of 2025.

Private-equity investment helped fuel that expansion. In February 2024, Blackstone announced a growth-equity investment in 7 Brew intended to help the company accelerate its national growth alongside franchise partners.

What is 7 Brew?

If you haven't encountered a 7 Brew yet, you need to know that it's not your average coffee shop.

While it does serve coffee shop classics, the chain says its menu offers more than 20,000 customizable drink combinations.

Customers can choose from coffee-based drinks, energy drinks, teas, lemonades, smoothies, shakes, and flavored sodas, which can all be customized by switching out flavors, milk, sweetness, and other ingredients.

That broad menu is an important part of the brand's appeal. Instead of positioning itself strictly as a coffee, smoothie, or dirty soda chain, 7 Brew can compete for customers looking for a wide variety of specialty beverages.

The chain is also built primarily around small, drive-thru-only stands, typically with two lanes and no seating. The idea is less "sit down with a latte" and more "grab a highly customized drink on the way to wherever you're going."

However, the company has begun experimenting with formats beyond the traditional roadside stand. In 2025, it opened a walk-through location inside a Walmart in Springdale, Arkansas, followed by another location near Ohio State University's campus in Columbus.

Where is 7 Brew expanding in October?

This month, 7 Brew will be opening approximately 50 new locations in 31 states.

The expansion is especially concentrated in the South and Midwest, with additional openings stretching into the Northeast and Mountain West.

The chain has officially announced a handful of addresses and opening dates, but many locations and ribbon cuttings are still listed as "to be determined."

The states getting at least one new drive-thru location include Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

The best way to keep up with new and upcoming openings is via 7 Brew's store locator tool. You can search by city, state, or ZIP code to see existing locations, and the directory is updated as new stands open.

How to find out if 7 Brew is opening near you

If your state or city isn't slated to get a 7 Brew this go-around, don't necessarily assume you're out of luck.

Local development records can sometimes provide a clue that a store is headed to an area near you, even before the chain makes an official announcement. Check your city's planning, zoning, or building-permit database for applications involving 7 Brew, particularly if you live in a fast-growing suburb or along a major commercial corridor.

Look for familiar 7 Brew site characteristics, too. Many locations are relatively small and designed around drive-thru traffic, so proposed sites may show up as outparcels in shopping centers, near big-box retailers, along major roads, or close to college campuses.

The distinction between a proposal and a confirmed opening is important, though. A permit or site plan means a project is being pursued; it doesn't necessarily mean the stand will open on a particular date — or even that the project will ultimately be completed.

Bottom line

7 Brew's aggressive October expansion plans highlight something important about the beverage industry: consumers are increasingly prioritizing convenience, customization, and variety over the traditional coffee shop experience.

The company's rapid growth also illustrates why the drive-thru beverage model is attracting so much attention. Even with their relatively small footprint, stands can serve customers quickly while offering an enormous range of drinks, making the format particularly appealing to consumers traveling more on the go and well suited to busy commercial corridors and college communities.

For consumers, that means 7 Brew may soon be an option even if there isn't one in your area today.

And if you're curious about whether a stand is coming, don't just wait for the grand-opening announcement. The company's store locator is a good place to start, while local development and building-permit records can sometimes offer an earlier clue that a new location is on the way.
