Amazon sells a similar style from CRZ YOGA for $32. While the brand offers a wider selection of colors, it's not worth the extra cash.

Bulk-buying basics like these generic paper towels is a top reason to shop at a warehouse club. Sam's Club sells this 15-pack of 150-sheet select-and-tear two-ply paper towels for just over $20. Compare the private-label brand's price to $43.49 for a 16-count pack of 107-sheet Bounty QuickSize paper towels on Amazon.

Prep for parties with this 300-count pack of 12-ounce plastic cups. We spotted the same number of smaller nine-ounce disposables on Amazon, listed at $34.99.

Whether you're cuddling up in the cozy warmth or using this throw as decor, Sam's 60-by-70-inch faux fur blanket is a budget-friendly bargain for under $20. Choose from six on-trend patterns, including Leopard Ombre, Grey Tiger, Cow, Chinchilla, Snow Leopard, and Timberwolf.

Amazon sells a similar style in the same size for $49.99.

We scrolled through Amazon for candles and spotted a two-wick, 8.8-ounce jar from Calyan Wax Co. priced at $29.99.

Everyday essentials shouldn't break the bank. Pro tip: Choose a generic EVOO, like this 101-ounce bottle from Member's Mark, instead of a brand name. A 68-ounce bottle of Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil is listed at over $47 on Amazon.

Start your morning off right with a heart-healthy bowl of oats. This 169-ounce pack from Sam's is an under-$8 bulk-buy bargain that is better than what Amazon offers. The retailer sells a two-count of 64-ounce bags (128 ounces total) for $16.88.

Sam's generic version of Tide makes it easy to keep your clothes clean. The 196-ounce, 127-load copycat is an affordable alternative to the real deal on Amazon ($24.94 for 158 ounces).

Both Sam's and Amazon sell these brand-name men's trail socks. You'll pay $7.81 for a six-pack at the warehouse club.

Amazon also sells a six-pack of the comfortable, cozy polyester-blend socks. But instead of just under $10, the online retailer charges $33.89.

Stock up and save money on this 48-count bulk buy from Sam's private label line. Get 48 AA batteries for $17.98 at the warehouse club. A 24-pack from Duracell costs $24.49 on Amazon.

When you calculate the price per piece, you'll pay $0.37 at Sam's Club and $1.02 online from the e-tailer.

Bottom line

Don't assume that Amazon always has the best prices. Avoid wasting money and price-shop items before you click "buy now."

The picks on our list aren't the only deals that are better at Sam's. If you're short on cash, the warehouse club's membership ($60 for the Basic level) is significantly less than Amazon's annual fee ($139 for Prime).
