5. Chevrolet Silverado

The Chevrolet Silverado sold more than 540,000 units across the U.S. in 2023, making it the second-best-selling vehicle in the country, according to Car and Driver.

However, it only landed in fifth place on the list of the most popular vehicles in Florida during the prior year, 2022.

One reason may be the needs of Florida residents. The state is well-known for being a haven for retirees, with 21.6% of Florida's population over the age of 65.

Retirees may be less willing to buy a big pickup truck for a variety of reasons, including the fact that trucks are more difficult to get into and out of.

4. Ford F-Series

Another pickup — the Ford F-Series — topped the list of best-selling vehicles in the U.S. in 2023, with more than 750,000 units sold.

The F-Series finished in fourth place on the list of popular vehicles in Florida during 2022.

3. Toyota Camry

Toyota dealerships are likely happy with their business in Florida: All three of the most popular vehicles in Florida during 2022 were Toyota products.

One reason for the Toyota Camry's appeal in the Sunshine State may be its affordability, which can be an advantage for retirees who are living on fixed incomes and others who make modest wages. The vehicle has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $26,420.

Borrow up to $50k to finally crush your debt

If you have thousands in debt and you’re barely making it paycheck to paycheck, you know how suffocating it is. Debt is always on your mind. It controls your life. And even if you make on-time payments, they’re so expensive that you have nothing left over.

A personal loan could help you get out of this situation and lift your monthly debt burden significantly. You could finally pay off all of your debt at once, get rid of the sky-high interest rates, and slash your debt load to one manageable monthly payment.

AmONE is a marketplace where you can find some of the best personal loans available. They match you with loans up to $50,000 with rates as low as 2.49%. That’s better than most credit cards. And easier than draining your bank account every month. Seeing what you qualify for doesn’t affect your credit score, and if you’re approved, you could get money the next day.

2. Toyota RAV4

The Toyota RAV4 is the only SUV on this list. It was the best-selling SUV in the U.S. in 2023, with more than 430,000 units sold.

It was also popular in Florida during 2022. One reason for the RAV4's popularity might be that drivers have the ability to see better over traffic, something that is particularly appealing to retirees. It also gets good gas mileage for an SUV.

1. Toyota Corolla

Florida was the only U.S. state in the Edmunds survey to have the Toyota Corolla as its top vehicle during 2022.

The Corolla is particularly appealing to drivers on a budget who want something affordable. For example, the 2024 version has an MSRP of $22,050.

The Corolla also gets good marks for safety from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Bottom line
