At Giant Eagle, consumers can still expect to pay close to $5 for a dozen eggs, according to the FinanceBuzz study. While more expensive for shoppers, this is a decrease in price from two weeks ago, when a dozen eggs at Giant Eagle cost $4.99.

7. Publix

Average price: $4.05

At Publix, the price of a dozen eggs is almost 90 cents cheaper than two weeks ago. As of this week, you'll pay just over $4 on average at the grocery chain.

6. Kroger

Average price: $3.94

This week, prices at Kroger come in under $4. Two weeks ago, shoppers could expect to pay an average price of $4.29 at the supermarket. This week, that number dropped to $3.94. That means consumers are saving 35 cents on eggs.

The average cost of a dozen large white eggs is 50 cents cheaper this week at Meijer. Previously, shoppers could expect to pay $3.99 for a carton.

At Target, prices have dropped over 50 cents since May 12. Two weeks ago, shoppers at the retailer paid an average price of $3.99 for a dozen eggs. This week, that number is $3.48.

3. H-E-B

H-E-B shoppers can see major savings at the grocery store. The chain reduced prices by more than $1.00, with the average cost of a dozen large white eggs coming in at $3.25. Two weeks ago, shoppers could expect to pay $4.27 on average.

2. Aldi

At Aldi, egg prices dipped below $3 per dozen for the first time since FinanceBuzz started tracking egg prices. Previously, a carton cost shoppers $3.93. This week, the average price is $2.97.

Which supermarket has the cheapest egg prices? Walmart takes the cake, where a dozen large white eggs cost $2.96 this week.

Like Aldi, this is the first time since the start of the study where prices are below $3. Two weeks ago, the average cost of a carton was $3.94, which means shoppers are now saving almost $1.

According to the FinanceBuzz study, retailers cut egg prices this week by 67 cents per dozen on average across all stores analyzed. The USDA also predicted that egg prices would begin to fall in the second quarter of 2025 and resume a downward trend into the third quarter.
