These 47 Cities Will Soon Be Getting a Target (Is Yours One?)

America's favorite department store is on a path to reach 2,000 stores by the end of 2025, helping cement its goal of being within 10 miles of every doorstep in the country and opening 300 stores over the next decade.

Many of these new locations are set to be "hybrid" stores that aim to blend physical in-store shopping with a seamless digital shopping experience. That means you can stretch your Target budget no matter your personal shopping preferences.

But where exactly is the chain expanding to? See if your hometown is getting a new Target shopping center this year.

• Buckeye: Hwy. 10 and Verrado Way
• Mesa (far East): Hwy 60 and Signal Butte Road
• Queen Creek: 37854 N. Gantzel Road

The three new Targets coming to Arizona will all be larger than average at 145,000 square feet or more. Queen Creek is on schedule to open in October, however, the other two locations do not yet have projected opening dates.

• Bakersfield: Panama Lane and Gosford Road
• Fresno Fancher Creek: 205 S. Clovis Ave.
• Jurupa Valley: 8063 Mission Blvd.
• Perris: 1688 N. Perris Blvd.

August 17 will mark the opening of California's 320th Target store in Jurupa Valley, which will feature one of the largest food offerings in the L.A. market, spanning 16,000 square feet of groceries. Even better, the store will offer next-day delivery to all of Jurupa Valley, which could claw back customers from Amazon's 2-day Prime delivery.

• Denver Green Valley Ranch: E. 56th Ave. and Tower Road
• Firestone: 4358 City Centre Road

The Green Valley Ranch neighborhood is near the Denver International Airport, and its new Target is part of a mixed-use development that will feature 250,000 square feet of commercial space along with 2,000 apartments and townhouses.

• Guilford: 900 Boston Post Road
• Norwalk: 680 Connecticut Ave.

Connecticut's new Targets will both be opening on Aug. 17. Guilford's new store is occupying a space that was formerly a Walmart, and will include an Apple Store, CVS Pharmacy, and a Starbucks Cafe.

• Bradenton Heritage Harbour: 725 Lighthouse Drive
• Cypress Creek Station (Fort Lauderdale): 6415 N. Andrews Ave.
• Lake Nona: Lake Nona Boulevard
• Trailwinds Village (Wildwood): County Road 466A and Seven Mile Drive
• Wesley Chapel Grove: Oakley Boulevard and Pink Flamingo Lane
• Winter Haven: Highway 17, 3rd St. SW and Avenue R SW

Bradenton and Trailwinds Village will see their new Target stores open on August 17, both of which will offer customers an Apple Store, CVS Pharmacy, and Starbucks Cafe.

• Pocatello Chubbuck: Pine Ridge Mall, Highway 86 and Yellowstone Avenue

Earlier this year, Target announced it would be replacing JCPenney as an anchor store in the Pine Ridge Mall. The indoor mall is expected to be rebuilt as an outdoor shopping center, and Penney's closed their doors on May 25.

• Frankfort: Highway 64 and Route 127

Target has confirmed that a new location will be coming to Frankfort, but is keeping the details sparse until it is closer to being ready for customers. A spokesperson for the department store indicated they will share details about how the shopping experience will be tailored to serve local residents as they move closer to the opening date.

• Lima: Lima Mall, Elida Road and North Cable Road

2600 Elida Road was formerly a Macy's, but a deed filed in January shows the land was purchased by Target. The mall has been under new ownership since 2023, and significant revitalization steps have been taken that are believed to have appealed to Target.

• Springfield: Boston Road

In early April, Target filed paperwork for a deed on a $175,000 parcel of land where the Eastfield Mall was formerly located. The mall has been closed for over two years, but will soon have more retailers occupying the space, including BJ's, PetSmart, and Hobby Lobby.

• Springfield: W. Sunshine St. (MO Route 413) and W. Bypass (Highway 160)
• University City: Olive Boulevard

Both of the new stores in Missouri will span over 148,000 square feet.

• Tupelo: North Gloster Street and Commonwealth Boulevard

Construction is already underway in the Magnolia State for their new Target; however, opening projections indicate it likely won't be open to the public until October 2026.

• Fuquay-Varina: 2901 Wallace Adcock Blvd.
• Mebane: Interstate Highway 40 and Trollingwood Road
• Myrtle Grove: Carolina Beach Road and Piner Road
• Selma: 551 Saint Mark Ave.

Target's latest expansion plans include many rural towns in the process of transforming into suburbs. Local residents hope this will spark a retail boom and attract more retail opportunities closer to home.

• Grand Island: W. 13th St.

Walls began going up for Nebraska's new Target in November 2024 in the Conestoga Mall. If all goes according to plan, the new Target should be open sometime this fall.

• Flemington: 325 Route 202
• West Orange: 235 Prospect Ave.

Flemington's new Target is expected to open Aug. 17, with West Orange trailing behind in the fall.

• Bridgehampton: 2044 Montauk Highway

A new Target opened on July 20 in Queens, offering next-day delivery to all of Astoria. The Bridgehampton location will follow by opening later this autumn.

• West Goshen: 985 Paoli Pike

The West Goshen Shopping Center used to be home to a Kmart, but that space has been vacant since 2019. Target has been hard at work transforming the space, and the new location will open Aug. 17.

• Indian Land: 5345 Crossridge Blvd.
• Lexington: Augusta Highway
• Seneca: 1810 Sandifer Blvd.

The CrossRidge Center in Indian Land began development on the Target site last fall, located directly across from the YMCA. The site seems to have been chosen for its convenient proximity to the state line and Ballantyne, as well as having key connections to Fort Mills through Route. 160 and Dobys Bridge Road.

• Brookings: North of 6th Street/Highway. 14 and east of Highway 29

Target will be a new anchor tenant at the Brookings Marketplace, although there is no word yet on when the location is expected to be open to the public.

• Dallas (Wynnewood Village): 655 W. Illinois Ave.
• Forney: 11520 East U.S. 80
• Fort Worth: McPherson Boulevard and Chisholm Trail Parkway
• Katy Heritage: 29355 Katy Freeway
• Little Elm: Highway 30 and Ryan Spiritas Parkway
• Stafford: Arc Lane

Everything is bigger in Texas — including the Targets. A new large-format store recently opened in Denton, and two more are planned for later this year.

Texas is also the test market for Target's new branded delivery service and follows in Amazon's footsteps for keeping delivery drivers in-house. The new Target-branded delivery vehicles will also allow the department store to test an expanded 90-mile delivery radius, which could be a game-changer for Texans who live outside the cities.

• Herriman: 13251 S. Towne Commons Drive
• Logan: 1300 Main St., Suite #100

If you live in Logan, the nearest Target is 51 miles away — but not for much longer. The location used to be the Cache Valley Mall but was proposed for redevelopment in 2023. The new development will be a mixed-use property that will also offer residential homes and office space. Opening dates have not yet been announced.

• South Riding: Loudoun County Parkway and Dulles West Boulevard

Construction was well underway in April on Virginia's newest Target location, although no opening date has been announced yet. It's part of the Shops at Arcola Center project, and the area hopes the new department store will draw in other retailers and restaurants.

• Brown Deer: West Brown Deer Road and North Green Bay Road

The soon-to-be new Target location in Wisconsin was a largely vacant retail center that only has a Michaels and Bath & Body Works left. The area is under redevelopment for a multi-use purpose and will also include a four-story building with three floors of market-rate apartments on top of commercial space on the first floor.

Many of the new Targets are planned to be part of multi-use developments, which will appeal to Americans who want to save more on everyday essentials while also being able to walk to get them.

The new large-format stores and branded delivery will also be positioned to cater to all shopping preferences, thereby maximizing their customer base.
