Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ:PLTR) shares were up $6.47, or 3.50%, near $191.46 in Wednesday afternoon trading, above the previous close of $184.99. The stock is drawing attention as the market weighs new AI partnerships, analyst target increases, and demand for Palantir's Artificial Intelligence Platform. Moves like this can serve as hidden signs of financial stability for the company, even as skeptics question the gap between its revenue and its market cap. The same debate is putting fresh focus on whether Palantir's growth can keep supporting its valuation.

Shares hold gains

PLTR opened at $185.64, above the previous close, and traded between $182.94 and $193.79 during the session. The move kept shares in positive territory into the afternoon and extended recent momentum around Palantir's AI strategy. TradingKey cited bullish sentiment and technical buy signals, while Wednesday's trading range showed continued volatility.

AI partnerships expand

Palantir recently announced partnerships involving Nvidia, Fujitsu, and Method Security, giving traders fresh catalysts around commercial and government AI use. TradingKey said the Nvidia collaboration targets sovereign AI systems for complex supply chain operations across critical industries and government sectors. Sovereign AI generally refers to systems designed to operate under a government's own infrastructure, controls, or rules.

Japan and cybersecurity focus

Fujitsu expanded its agreement to deploy Palantir's AI platforms across enterprise networks in Japan and global markets, according to TradingKey. The outlet also said Method Security launched nationwide autonomous cybersecurity testing for critical infrastructure using Palantir software. Those announcements broaden the story beyond one customer segment.

Analysts lift targets

DA Davidson and UBS raised Palantir price targets after strategic updates and the AIPCon showcase. TradingKey said the firms pointed to surging adoption of the Artificial Intelligence Platform and accelerating U.S. commercial demand. AIP is the Palantir platform at the center of those adoption claims.

Government work stays central

Palantir's government business also remains part of the trading narrative. Recent government-related coverage included the FAA's SMART airspace management rollout. Investing.com reported that Rosenblatt reiterated a $225 price target after the rollout while noting the agency had expanded Palantir use cases for additional safety applications. The same report cited William Blair on the expansion of Palantir's Maven Smart System contract with the Pentagon. These items keep attention on whether agency and defense deployments expand alongside commercial demand.

Cash flow scrutiny

The rally has also kept Palantir's cash generation in focus. Foreign Policy Journal reported that a discounted cash flow model put Palantir's latest 12-month free cash flow at roughly $3.36 billion and described the model output as broadly in line with the share price at the time. Free cash flow is money left after a company covers operations and major investments.

Valuation labels differ

GuruFocus's GF Value model separately labeled PLTR overvalued and assigned the stock a GF Score of 83/100. The same item showed Palantir with high growth and financial-strength ratings but a lower profitability rating. That contrast shows why the same rally can be read as evidence of strong execution and as a test of how much future growth is already priced into the stock.

Bottom line

PLTR's Wednesday move combines a clear intraday gain with AI partnership news, analyst target increases, and continued attention on government programs. The momentum is drawing fresh interest from investors looking to start investing in AI-exposed defense names ahead of the next earnings cycle. Market watchers are focused on whether AIP adoption and the latest partnerships translate into revenue and cash flow that can support the valuation debate.
