Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) traded near $192.42 in Tuesday afternoon trading, up $3.02, or 1.59%, from its previous close of $189.40. Holders using the session to gauge whether they're doing better financially this year got another data point in the green column. The AI software stock drew attention after Palantir announced a sovereign AI partnership with Armada, adding a new infrastructure angle to its growth story.

Intraday range

PLTR opened at $191.05, then traded between $190.22 and $194.56 during the session. The move kept the stock above Monday's close and extended attention on the AI software name.

Sovereign AI push

Palantir and Armada announced on Oct. 1 a partnership to deliver sovereign AI using infrastructure manufactured in the U.S. and allied nations. The companies said the joint offering combines Palantir's Sovereign AI Operating System with Armada's modular data centers, the Armada Platform, and Sovereign AI Grid. The setup is aimed at enterprises and governments that want to run open-weight models on compute, data, and physical infrastructure they own and control, with deployments the companies said can happen in months rather than years.

Quarterly growth

Second-quarter revenue reached $1.94 billion, up 93% from a year earlier and above Wall Street estimates of $1.81 billion. U.S. commercial revenue rose 149% to $764 million, while U.S. government revenue climbed 90% to $809 million. Palantir also reported more than $1 billion in GAAP net income and raised full-year revenue guidance to as much as $8.158 billion.

Profit and cash flow

The company generated a 47% GAAP operating margin and $1.22 billion in adjusted free cash flow, with an adjusted free cash flow margin of 63%. Free cash flow is the cash left after operating costs and capital spending.

Customer expansion

Net dollar retention increased to 157% from 150% sequentially. Net dollar retention tracks how much existing customers spend compared with an earlier period. The increase signaled that existing customers expanded spending on Palantir products after initial adoption.

Analyst reaction

Citi raised its Palantir price target to $245, Mizuho raised its target to $215, and Deutsche Bank's Brad Zelnick upgraded PLTR to Buy with a $200 target after the earnings release, according to TradingKey. The same report cited TipRanks data showing about 70% of analysts covering the stock had Buy ratings.

Valuation and estimates

Zacks reported PLTR had gained roughly 42% over the past three months, intensifying the valuation debate around the stock. Over the past 60 days, analysts made 10 upward earnings estimate revisions for 2026 and none downward, with the same 10-up, none-down pattern for 2027, Zacks said. Zacks also said consensus estimates projected earnings growth of 114.7% in 2026 and 40% in 2027, plus revenue growth of 83% in 2026 and 42.5% in 2027.

Bottom line

Palantir's Tuesday move reflects a market weighing strong AI demand, a new sovereign AI infrastructure partnership, and a stock price that already embeds high expectations. Retail traders looking to start investing in AI-linked names face the same tension between momentum and valuation that institutional buyers are now pricing in. The next focus for market watchers is whether commercial and government demand can keep expanding while margins, cash flow, and customer spending remain near the levels reported in the second quarter.
