Move over DoorDash; there's a new restaurant delivery service in town. Even though you may think the only way to save money at Walmart is by taking advantage of Rollbacks, the superstore is now offering a new service that makes it easier and potentially less expensive to get freshly made meals.
Like Aldi, Whole Foods Market, and Target, Walmart offers quick, convenient grocery delivery to your door. But now the retailer is expanding the service to include an Uber Eats-like experience.
How does this new dining option work? Whether you don't have the time to get in your car and drive to a restaurant, you're searching for an easy way to use less gas, or you just don't have the energy left over to cook yet another meal, here's everything you need to know about Walmart's Express Delivery restaurant service.
Editor's note: Prices and availability are subject to change and may vary by location.

What is Walmart restaurant delivery?
Walmart is branching out into DoorDash's and Uber Eats' territories. The superstore already has a super-sized footprint. Ninety percent of the U.S. population has a Walmart store within 10 miles of their home. This includes over 4,600 locations nationwide, making it one of the most accessible retailers.
While the growing number of locations makes hopping over to a Walmart supercenter an easy trip, the chain's delivery options add an unprecedented level of convenience for shoppers living on a fixed income or a tight budget.
The new restaurant-based service takes Walmart's delivery options up a notch, giving consumers the chance to order a meal and stay at home. Like DoorDash and Uber Eats, this new service lets you select and pay for the items you want online or in the app.
Subway and Walmart's new meal delivery service
Walmart initially announced plans to introduce meal delivery in June of 2026. Like any new venture, even a superstore needs to start small. Instead of an impressive Uber Eats-ish array of restaurants, Walmart only has a few ordering options available right now.
Walmart shoppers already know and appreciate the in-store Subway locations. Now you can get your favorite sammies delivered straight to your door. Damien Harmon, President of Subway North America, explained, "The integration of Subway deliveries into the Walmart app and Walmart.com is a natural evolution of our 20-year relationship built on a shared commitment to value, freshness, and everyday convenience."
Not only can you order from Subway via Walmart's website or app, but you can also customize your meal. According to the superstore, shoppers can browse Subway's menu and choose their favorite toppings.
Dunkin' Donuts and Walmart's new meal delivery service
Subway isn't the only eatery that offers Walmart at-home delivery. In early September, the superstore announced it would partner with Inspire Brands to offer Dunkin' beverages and meals. Like Subway, Dunkin' also has locations inside select Walmart stores.
The big-box retailer plans to launch Dunkin' delivery at its existing 150 in-store tenant locations, eventually expanding the service to 10,000 more nationwide. This includes thousands of stand-alone Dunkin' eateries outside of Walmart stores.
Dunkin' Brand President and Inspire Chief Brand Officer Scott Murphy said of the partnership, "By combining the strength of Walmart's delivery platform with the appeal of our Dunkin' menu, we can reach more guests in more moments, creating an experience that fits naturally into everyday life."
When will Walmart add more restaurants to the retailer's meal delivery service?
In the brief few months since Walmart debuted the service, the retailer has expanded the lineup of eateries. It's possible that more restaurants could come on board and team up with the big box chain in the future.
Shortly after announcing the addition of Dunkin', another popular pick revealed it is now on board. Papa John's is joining Walmart's meal delivery lineup, making it easier to get a fresh, hot pizza with your groceries.
Restaurant Dive recently reported that Papa John's global chief marketing officer said, "By bringing our focus on quality to Walmart Express Delivery, we're giving customers an opportunity to try Papa John's on new occasions as they shop, while also introducing the brand to new people."
How do I order meals from Walmart for delivery?
Walmart makes it easy to order meals from the store's partner restaurants. The process is similar to that of other delivery sites, such as DoorDash and Uber Eats. If you don't already use Walmart's app, download it to your smartphone. Customers who don't have a smartphone or don't want to use the retailer's app can also use Walmart.com
After you've downloaded the app or are on the website, log into your account. Don't have an account? Simply click on "Sign in or create account" and follow the prompts. After signing in, go to the "Restaurants" tab and select your choice (from Subway, Papa John's, or Dunkin'). Build and customize your meal and choose Express Delivery at checkout.
Meal delivery is not yet available in all Walmart locations. The service started in some Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas stores and is expected to expand.
Can I get a meal with my Walmart grocery order?
Yes, you can order a meal and your groceries at the same time. This convenient option lets you get everything done at once. And bonus, with Express Delivery, you can get your items in 30 minutes or less. Keep in mind, this service is only available in select locations. There is an additional $10 fee for the express option.
Shoppers who order Express Delivery often can save money with a Walmart+ membership. While you will still need to pay the $10 30-minute express fee, you can score free standard delivery on orders over $35.
Bottom line
While the new restaurant-based Walmart Express Delivery add-on isn't exactly on par with DoorDash and Uber Eats yet, the service is slowly expanding to include a greater selection of popular eateries. That means you could see more dining options in the future. Check your local Walmart and the app for new additions.
Even though you can't get dinner from every restaurant in the area (at least, not yet), the ability to combine your sandwich, coffee, or breakfast order with your regular shopping list makes this new service valuable. But it's not the only way to tackle high grocery costs.
