These 16 Cities Have the Best Costcos, According to Locals

There are plenty of Costco locations across the country, with 600 stores in the United States. But which ones attract the most shoppers looking to save money on groceries?

Finance Buzz took on the task of ranking the best Costco stops by interviewing more than 6,000 Costco customers in the United States.

The survey asked customers to rate their local locations on cleanliness, friendliness, stock availability, quality of samples, quantity of samples, and parking on a scale of 1-10.

These are the best Costco locations based on the survey results by Finance Buzz. Did your local Costco make the list?

The Costco store in Cypress was one of four locations with an overall score of 52.1, ranking it among the top 15 locations in the Finance Buzz survey.

The location earned high marks for cleanliness and the quality of samples. But it might want to focus on the quantity of samples as customers dinged the store for not having enough.

The Costco on Golden Gate Boulevard in this Cleveland suburb earned high scores for cleanliness and friendliness.

"They have very friendly and professional checkout staff," said one customer's online review.

Another store that earned high ratings for its cleanliness and friendliness was in Greenville.

The location also was highly rated by customers for its well-stocked shelves, placing it in the top 15 overall.

Coral Springs earned one of the highest marks for cleanliness with a rating of 9.5, which was only two-tenths off the best rating for a Costco in the Finance Buzz survey.

But the store was dragged down in the overall standings with its low score for parking. It had the lowest rating for its parking lot of any store in the top 15.

New Berlin's Costco landed among the top-rated locations in the U.S., with high scores for cleanliness and friendliness.

One reviewer declared, "Great employees and clean environment!" while another described it as "clean, organized, and fully stocked."

The New Berlin location tied with another Wisconsin city, Sun Prairie, with both getting a 52.2 overall rating from Wisconsin customers.

Sun Prairie's customers praised the store's cleanliness and friendliness, but its overall score was dragged down by a subpar score for its parking situation.

Head to Glen Burnie if you want to shop at a well-stocked Costco.

Customers gave the Glen Burnie Costco the best rating in the country for the store's stock out of 231 stores in the Finance Buzz survey.

Homestead's Costco ranked high in the Finance Buzz survey due to its high scores in all categories, including the second-highest for parking among the top 15 Costco locations.

One customer raved in an online review that it's "easy to find a parking spot."

Try out Costco's Enfield store if you love the samples you can get while shopping.

The location had the second-best score for sample quality among the top 15 overall locations in the Finance Buzz survey, with a rating of 8.9.

The St. Peters Costco in the suburbs of St. Louis gained its spot among the best Costco locations for being clean and friendly for customers.

"Every single employee is helpful and going to make sure your questions are answered and items found," said one review about the store's friendly customer service.

Costco has three stores in Houston, but the location on Richmond Avenue stood out for customers, especially when it came to samples.

The store was the only location to earn a 9 rating for the quality of its samples out of the 231 locations surveyed, and it had one of the highest marks for the quantity of its samples.

You're likely to find what you need in stock at the Costco in Raleigh.

The location was one of three in the survey that tied for the best stock with a 9.4 rating. Raleigh also received great marks for cleanliness and friendliness.

Customers at the Centerville Costco near Dayton gave the store excellent marks for cleanliness, friendliness, and being well-stocked.

The store also had the best rating for parking among the top 15 locations on the Finance Buzz survey.

"I love the parking and how the spaces aren't too close together," said one online review.

You can shop at one of three Costcos in San Antonio, but the store on UTSA Boulevard may be the best option, according to the Finance Buzz survey.

The store earned the best cleanliness ratings in the survey, with a 9.7 from customers. It also earned great marks for friendliness, stock, and its samples.

Try out the Costco on NW 88th Street if you want to shop at a great location that performed well across metrics in the Finance Buzz survey.

The store didn't have a first-place showing in any of the six metrics, but its overall combined score of 53.5 placed it as the second-best Costco in the country of the 231 locations surveyed.

Consider yourself lucky if you get to shop at the Costco in Cumming, which earned the top spot in the survey for the best Costco in the country.

The location earned a 54.5 overall score in the Finance Buzz survey and was the top-ranked store in the country for friendliness, stock, and quantity of samples.

"This is the best Costco location," one review said. "Friendly staff, clean, and efficient."

Costco is a great way to help you save money by picking up items in bulk, but bulk buying can also cost more upfront than a typical grocery store trip.
