Runner-Up: Deep Indian Kitchen Butter Chicken Kati Street Wrap
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-deep-indian-kitchen-butter-chicken-kati-street-wrap.jpg)
Price: $13.79
My search for a bargain first took me to Costco's frozen food section. And that's where I found this subtly spiced creamy butter chicken dish.
Unlike some of the store's other "butter chicken" entrees, this one is rolled into Indian paratha bread. And you don't worry about this wrap getting soggy — crisping sleeves definitely do the trick and give this pick the perfect flaky crunch.
Runner-Up: Kevin's Hawaiian Style Chicken
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-kevins-hawaiian-style-chicken.jpg)
Price: $14.99
A sauce made with pineapple, coconut, and ginger? I'm sold. Of course, that's not the only reason why this brand-name buy made my list. The tender antibiotic-free chicken is packed with protein (20 grams per serving) and couldn't be easier to make.
For those of us who aren't skilled in the kitchen, this meal is almost effortless to prepare. While you can heat the chicken on your stovetop, I prefer the microwave option.
Runner-Up: Rana Organic Chicken Alfredo Tagliatelle
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-rana-organic-chicken-alfredo-tagliatelle.jpg)
Price: $15.99
When I crave carbs, just any pasta won't do. But this rich chicken alfredo always meets my expectations.
The fresh spinach and creamy sauce have a flavor I savor. Hint: Jazz up this somewhat basic blend and add a few fresh cherry tomatoes, sliced hearts of palm, or chopped artichokes.
Runner-Up: Kirkland Signature Chicken Burrito Bowl
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-kirkland-signature-chicken-burrito-bowl.jpg)
Price: $4.99 per pound
I'm not a fan of "bowls." Almost every fast-casual eatery has a menu filled with them. However, this KS-prepared deli item is different.
You don't necessarily have to mix everything together. Simply plate the cilantro lime rice and chicken, sprinkle the cheese on top, and add the salsa and guac to the side. Or, roll this meal into a warm tortilla.
Runner-Up: Kirkland Signature Food Court Chicken Bakes
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-kirkland-signature-food-court-chicken-bakes.jpg)
Price: $3.99
Costco sells two versions of the KS Chicken Bake — one in the food court and one in the freezer section.
Although the frozen option combines convenience with affordability, in my opinion, it falls short on taste and texture. That's why the crispier, crunchier, and ultimately tastier food court Chicken Bake was the only one of the two to make my list.
Runner-Up: Kevin's Paleo Thai Style Coconut Chicken
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-kevins-paleo-thai-style-coconut-chicken.jpg)
Price: $13.99
I'm a huge fan of Thai food and coconut-based dishes. So when I saw this easy-to-make entree, I was impressed.
And don't let the almost $14 price tag fool you into thinking this is an expensive option. This microwavable meal isn't a one-serving buy.
Quick tips: How to save on your grocery bill
/images/2024/05/10/mother-with-son-outside-grocery-store.jpeg)
Grocery shopping doesn't have to break the bank when you use the right strategies. Here are three quick tips for reducing food expenses:
- Buy store brands instead of name brands whenever possible.
- Always make sure to compare unit prices, not just sticker prices.
- Join your store's loyalty program so you don’t miss out on member discounts.
Even though something like choosing coupons in your grocery store app can feel like an annoying task, the savings can really add up.
Runner-Up: Ajinomoto Yakitori Chicken with Fried Rice
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-ajinomoto-yakitori-chicken-with-fried-rice.jpg)
Price: $14.99
As a smaller family, we can't use mega-sized bulk buys without wasting money. But this three-pound box of chicken fried rice is an exception.
I find the pre-portioned nine-ounce bags (you'll get six) a major bonus. And then of course, there's the taste. This savory blend of grilled white meat chicken and veggies tastes just like takeout — but at a fraction of the price.
Runner-Up: Kirkland Signature BBQ Chicken Man and Cheese with Bacon
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-kirkland-signature-bbq-chicken-man-and-cheese-with-bacon.jpg)
Price: $4.49 per pound
This smoky seasonal selection is a chicken dish that makes my summertime potluck parties and backyard barbecues a success. And the KS pick doesn't require a lengthy list of prep steps. Take off the plastic lid, cover it with foil, and pop it into the oven for 40 to 60 minutes.

Runner-Up: Kirkland Signature Food Court Rotisserie Chicken Caesar Salad
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-kirkland-signature-food-court-rotisserie-chicken-caesar-salad.jpg)
Price: $6.99
Sometimes I prefer a lighter post-shopping lunch. But that doesn't mean snacking on a few crackers or eating an apple will cut it.
Costco's beloved rotisserie chicken breast and plenty of parm give this runner-up all the protein I need to refuel, while the crunchy Romaine adds the freshness I crave.
Runner-Up: Bibigo Sobaba Crunchy Glazed Chicken
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-bibigo-sobaba-crunchy-glazed-chicken.jpg)
Price: $15.99
As the name implies, this chicken item has the perfect crunch. I give the Asian-inspired meal 10/10 for the combo of crispy texture and subtle sweetness.
When it comes to cooking, this freezer find is a breeze to heat. Just air fry this pick for about 10 minutes, and it's ready to serve.
Runner-Up: Kirkland Signature Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Fillets
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-kirkland-signature-lightly-breaded-chicken-breast-fillets.jpg)
Price: $13.99
While technically not a full meal, KS breaded fillets are one of my absolute must-haves. These almost always end up in my shopping cart.
Not only are they beyond easy to prepare (air frying is the answer), they're perfect as-is, in a chicken parm sandwich, or sliced and served over a green salad.
Shopping pro tip: This month's best deals
/images/2022/12/26/happy-women-with-shopping-bags.jpg)
September marks the start of a new season and a new shopping mindset. As summer winds down, it's the perfect time to take advantage of transitional savings and post-summer sales. Look for deals on:
- Light layers and early fall fashion
- Outdoor clearance items
- Back-to-school essentials
- For grocery savings, grab peak-season produce, like apples, squash, grapes, and sweet potatoes
As retailers begin to roll out fall promotions, September is the sweet spot for scoring deals on both end-of-summer clearances and early autumn items. Shop now to get the best of both seasons.
Winner: Kirkland Signature Asian Wrap with Rotisserie Chicken
/images/2025/08/29/5535-costco-kirkland-signature-asian-wrap-with-rotisserie-chicken.jpg)
Price: $6.99 per pound
And the winner is…Kirkland's prepared deli Asian wrap. The savory spinach tortilla and tender rotisserie chicken make this easy meal number one in my book.
And then there's the dressing. I'm not the only shopper who can't get enough of it. Redditor Xyzeus commented, "The dressing is excellent. I wish it came with two."
Bottom line
/images/2025/07/31/costco-wholesale-building-in-manassas.jpg)
There you have it. While my faves may not feature the ingredients or flavors you crave, these chicken dishes all have one thing everyone can appreciate — a combination of low cost and high quality.
Looking for more ways to save money on groceries? Whether you're shopping for a chicken dinner or stocking up on snacks, here's my top tip: Swap brand-name buys for Kirkland Signature generics. These private-label products make it easy to keep your budget in check.
