Why Sam's Club cut prices on 250 items
Walmart, Sam's parent company, just debuted hundreds of summertime price reductions to help buyers spend less on seasonal products and more. This comes in the wake of rising costs and lower consumer confidence.
In May of 2026, inflation hit a three-year high of 4.2%. The jump shook shoppers, forcing them to look for alternative ways to cut costs. Sam's new lower prices are a welcome change that could bring reluctant customers back to the store.
Which Sam's Club items are on sale?
The price cuts are not an across-the-board reduction. This means you might have to seek out specific items or make some changes to your shopping list.
Sam's Club says it is lowering prices on more than 250 items this summer as part of promotions tied to America's 250th birthday.
Some of the most popular sale-priced picks include Member's Mark Bone-In Chicken Wings (old price: $2.88 per pound, new price: $2 per pound), Member's Mark Beef Hot Dogs (old price: $12.96, new price: $10.86), Member's Mark 88/12 Ground Beef (old price: $6.17 per pound, new price: $5.97 per pound), and Member's Mark Whole Bone-In Pork Back Ribs (old price: $3.48 per pound, new price: $3.18 per pound).
How do the new prices compare to other retailers' deals?
You're always looking for the best value. And that's why we compared some of Sam's Club's new prices to what other popular retailers charge.
Member's Mark 88/12 ground beef now costs $5.97 per pound at Sam's Club. Aldi sells its store-brand 85/15 ground beef for $6.29 per pound, and Target's Good & Gather generic 85/15 costs $7.89 per pound.
When it comes to hot dog prices, you can snag Member's Mark 24-count beef franks for $10.86 this summer. An eight-pack of Parkview Uncured Beef Franks costs $4.95 at Aldi. At that price, you would pay $14.85 to get Sam's quantity.
Are Costco and other warehouse clubs cutting prices too?
Sam's isn't the only warehouse club lowering prices this year. Costco recently announced reductions across the store's Kirkland Signature line of generics.
The retailer hasn't revealed a full list of cost cuts, but execustives did mention these stand-outs: Kirkland Signature Crispy Wings (old price: $16.99, new price: $14.99), Kirkland Signature Milk Chocolate Almonds (old price: $19.99, new price: $18.99), Kirkland Signature Golf Balls (old price: $32.99, new price: $29.99), and Kirkland Signature Kind Size Sheets (old price: $89.99, new price: $79.99).
How long will the price reductions last?
As of now, there's no word on whether the price cuts will last past the summer. Even though several of the reductions are on barbecue-ready perishables like ribs, beef, and wings, you can still stock up now and freeze them for later use.

We spotted a Member's Mark Cement Square Outdoor Umbrella Base for $49.94 (regular price $59.98), a Member's Mark Pro Series 5-Burner 36-Inch Propane Gas Griddle for $399 (regular price $499), and a Member's Mark 60-Ounce Citronella Candle in Cement Trough for $12.29 (regular price $24.98).
You can also save money by using the Sam's Club Scan & Go app, choosing generics over name-brand products, and taking advantage of manufacturer's discounts.
Sam's Club annual membership fee
Make sure the annual fee is worth the added cost before you invest in a Sam's Club membership just to score these summer discounts. If you can't take advantage of bulk buys or don't go to the club often, you could end up wasting money on this fee. That said, Sam's does have an offer you might not be able to pass up.
New customers can nab a basic Club membership for $25 (regularly $60) and a Plus membership for $55 (regularly $120) through August 1, 2026.
