These 4 Grocery Stores Cut Egg Prices the Most This Week (Find Out How Much)

It's no secret that the price of groceries is skyrocketing in today's economy. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Economic Research Service, food-at-home prices are predicted to increase 2.1% in 2025. Egg prices recently haven't made it any easier to stretch your grocery budget.

But according to a new FinanceBuzz study, consumers are beginning to feel some relief. The report indicates that the average cost of a dozen eggs this week was $3.17 per dozen, a 13% decrease from two weeks prior.

The team has been tracking real-time data across stores, and the latest results reveal which stores have seen the most drastic drops in egg prices. As of June 9, 2025, here's which grocers experienced the biggest change in price.

Price decrease: 40 cents

This week at Publix, a dozen eggs dropped to $3.65. Although this is one of the highest price tags across the grocery stores FinanceBuzz evaluated, it is 40 cents cheaper than two weeks ago, when prices were $4.05.

Price decrease: 49 cents

A dozen store-brand large white eggs are 49 cents cheaper at Target this week. Previously, shoppers had to shell out $3.48 for a dozen. Now, this price is only $2.99.

Price decrease: 50 cents

Looking to save money shopping? Head to Meijer, where egg prices this week are only $2.99. That's 50 cents cheaper than two weeks prior, when a dozen eggs cost $3.49.

Price decrease: 95 cents

Kroger dropped carton prices the most this week, where the price of a dozen eggs is almost $1 cheaper than it was two weeks ago. The cost for shoppers went from an astounding $3.94 to just $2.99.

This is also $2.32 less expensive than Kroger's highest price of $5.31 in March.

The retailers above showed a significant decrease in prices. And while the other stores FinanceBuzz tracked did not see any drop in cost, it's worth noting that prices for a dozen eggs have remained stable over the past two weeks:

• Walmart: $2.96
• Aldi: $2.97
• H-E-B: $3.25
• Giant Eagle: $4.85

Giant Eagle remains the most expensive place to buy eggs.

According to the FinanceBuzz study, retailers cut egg prices this week by 47 cents per dozen on average across all stores analyzed. The USDA also predicted that egg prices would begin to fall in the second quarter of 2025 and resume a downward trend into the third quarter.
