Applegate Naturals Chicken & Maple Breakfast Sausage Links

Price $12.42

My mornings start with coffee, but I fire up a few if I need a quick hit of healthy protein. They aren't the cheapest sausages in the freezer, but I appreciate the all-natural ingredients and lower fat content.

They are slightly sweet with a hint of spice. I enjoy them alone, with eggs, or alongside weekend pancakes.

Bettergoods Butternut Squash Ravioli

Price $5.42

I discovered butternut squash ravioli while traveling and was thrilled to find this version. The filling is creamy, slightly sweet, and seasoned with aromatic sage, nutmeg, and rosemary.

These ravioli are amazing with some Italian sausage meat pan-fried in olive oil. In restaurants, they often make a brown butter and sage sauce, but I usually toss them with the cooked meat and some parmesan.

Birds Eye Steamfresh Premium SeleCounts Sweet Peas

Price $1.27

Keeping fresh vegetables on hand can be challenging, but I always have these handy. Frozen veggies are flash-frozen right after they are picked and can be more nutritious than fresh ones.

Some people enjoy eating them straight from the bag, frozen. I either toss them into casseroles or lightly steam them when I need vegetables on the table fast.

Diana's Naturally Gluten Free Milk Chocolate Frozen Fresh Fruit Banana Bites

Price $4.78

Who doesn't love frozen bananas? Dip them in chocolate and you have an almost-healthy frozen treat.

I try to keep my sugar intake to a minimum. These frozen banana bites come in a resealable bag, so I snack on a few and am satisfied. It's almost like eating little ice-cream bonbons with real fruit inside.

Gordon's Beer Battered Fish Fillets

Price $6.86

We all know fish has omega-3s and is good for us, but fish is hard to cook and goes bad quickly. These fillets made from wild-caught pollock are easy to pull out of the freezer.

The beer batter crisps up nicely in the oven, and the fish stays flaky and mild. I like it with a dipping sauce and veggies. The fillets also make a great fish sandwich.

Great Value Blueberries

Price $7.82

I always have a bag of frozen blueberries in my freezer. They freeze surprisingly well and are always there when I need them.

Frozen blueberries are an easy, antioxidant, and fiber-rich addition to yogurt or hot cereal. Recently, I tried the TikTok trend of a whole lemon in the blender with frozen blueberries and water. It was shockingly okay.

Great Value Brussels sprouts

Price $1.52

Brussels sprouts have an impressive fiber and nutritional content. I never liked them until I tried them roasted with olive oil and garlic, but now they're a staple.

These couldn't be easier to use. They are pre-cleaned and ready to cook. I roast them in the oven or the air fryer until they are crispy.

Marie Callender's Dutch Apple Pie

Price $5.63 (on sale from $6.97)

Sometimes you need a tasty dessert fast. I love this pie because you can pull it out of the freezer, stick it into the oven, and serve a flaky, sweet crowd pleaser with next to no hassle.

It comes out with a buttery crust, tender apples, and just enough cinnamon. Would it be better if I baked it from scratch? Maybe.

Realgood Foods Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets

Price $7.86

Coated in chickpea flour and whey protein concentrate, these chicken nuggets pack flavor and protein with fewer carbs. I like them as a quick addition to a stir-fry or salad.

They crisp up nicely in the air fryer and can be an easy, healthy snack.

Soules Kitchen Chicken Breast Fajita Strips

Price $7.83

I love Mexican food, and this brings some of those flavors home. These chicken strips are pre-seasoned and taste great inside a burrito or folded in a corn tortilla with my favorite taco toppings.

I also use them on salads or with grilled veggies. They heat up in a few minutes in the oven, and I don't have to think about marinating chicken in advance.

Stouffer's Classic Meatloaf Dinner

Price $3.27

Sometimes I want meatloaf, but if I make an entire one, I'll eat it for three or four days. Stouffer's lets me enjoy a meatloaf dinner without leftovers.

It comes with mashed potatoes and vegetables and hits the comfort food spot. They have a bigger package in the Walmart freezer if you're serving more people.

Tru Fru Natures Raspberries Frozen Fresh in White & Milk Chocolate

Courtesy of Walmart frozen white milk chocolate

Price $7.27

I like the raspberry and strawberry versions of this treat during the hot summer days. You get a cold, sweet bite with a crunch of chocolate and the fruit flavor only nature can deliver.

With both white and milk chocolate, it's an outstanding alternative to ice cream. However, if you're feeling extra indulgent, you can sprinkle a few on top.

Gourmet Garden Gluten Free Garlic Stir In Paste

Courtesy of Walmart garlic stir in paste

Price $3.94

I love adding garlic to my dishes, but don't always want to peel and chop fresh garlic.

I used to buy the crushed garlic in a jar, but this is so much better. It holds its flavor, doesn't brown, and gives me the taste and health benefits of garlic with almost no effort.

Bottom line

Since Clarence Birdseye developed his quick freezing method in the 1920s, frozen foods have come a long way. Whether you use these items or find your own, you want tasty, versatile items that can work for multiple meals.

Having the right items in your freezer can help you keep your grocery budget on track. It certainly does that for me, not to mention it also helps me keep my diet. Instead of wasting money on takeout, I can whip up a meal any day of the week.
