These 8 Cities Are Getting a Costco This Year (Is Yours One?)

Loyal Costco fans love the big box retailer for its deals on items like the famous hot dogs and rotisserie chicken, and the store's affordable prices are a great way to unlock the true value of your membership.

The good news is that even more shoppers are about to have ways to save money. The retailer is expanding this year. Here are eight cities that have either recently gotten a Costco or are about to.

Residents of Brentwood, California, are thrilled to finally have a Costco of their own. While there are stores in Antioch and Tracy, residents no longer have to travel 10+ miles to reach the beloved warehouse chain.

Construction started in July 2024, with the city making adjustments to alleviate increasing traffic. The store opened in March.

The newest Costco in Michigan is located in Mundy Township on approximately 30-35 acres of land along Hill Road. Previously, the closest Costco to Mundy Township residents was located in Auburn Hills, over 30 miles away.

Residents are excited about shopping at the retail chain, and Costco is donating $25,000 to local park development projects. The opening date was in March.

Costco just recently arrived in Highland. The warehouse retailer resides on Greenspot Road between Boulder Avenue and Palm Avenue. This location features a gas station with both gas and electric charging stations.

Previously, Highland residents had to travel to San Bernardino to shop at the warehouse chain. This location also opened in March.

Prosper is living up to its name, booming with store openings — including Costco. This is the sixth Costco opening in the county, with locations in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen, and Melissa all opening in the last three years.

This location sits at the corner of FM 1385 and US 380 in Prosper. The town is excited about the economic growth the retail giant is bringing, and residents have been taking advantage of Costco's competitive prices.

This warehouse just opened in March as well. 

A new Costco opened in March in Sharon, Massachusetts. The warehouse is located at 160 Old Post Road, between two other Costco locations in Avon and Dedham. This location includes a gas station as well.

Another Costco recently arrived in the Lone Star State, this time just outside the metropolis of Fort Worth. This warehouse is located at 310 Center Point Road. 

The city of Weatherford has been growing rapidly over the last few years. Residents and the city development team alike are excited about the store that opened in mid-March. 

Last month, a new location in Stuart, Florida, opened. The warehouse is located at 3173 S. Kanner Highway and includes a gas station for residents to use. 

This new Costco is already a popular place for residents to save money shopping, as it is the first on the Treasure Coast.

This Costco is expected to be the largest Costco in Texas. The store will be located at the intersection of State Highway 191 and 158, and plans to open in July this year. 

Residents are looking forward to not only shopping at the wholesaler but also to the development and growth it promises to bring. 

Beyond these cities, Costco has no plans to slow down and hopes to open 29 locations throughout this fiscal year. Twelve of these locations will open internationally, and other U.S. locations still have yet to be announced.

The warehouse chain already has more than 600 locations throughout the United States and over 800 clubs worldwide.

Last year, Costco opened its fifth location in Spain as it continues to expand around the globe. Outside of the U.S., Canada has the most Costco locations, currently at 109 warehouses.

Costco memberships make up more than 70% of its annual profits, and the company raised membership prices for the first time since 2017 last year.

As of May 2025, Costco's base Gold Star membership costs $65, with an Executive membership now costing $130.

Despite the price increase, membership revenue rose 7.6% for Costco's first 2025 fiscal quarter. Apparently, members feel like access to the warehouse club is still worth it.

Even with rising membership fees, Costco isn't struggling to keep members. So what is it about Costco that people love so much? Thanks to Reddit, here are some of the most common answers:

While you do have to pay a yearly fee to shop at this warehouse chain, plenty of deals, from the wholesale quantities to the free samples, have Costco fans shouting their love from the rooftops.

Some people have said the membership cost is worth it for the gas savings alone, not including all the other benefits and cost savings. So, if your city is welcoming a new location, get ready to save money on groceries, especially if you are shopping their weekly deals or buying seasonal items.
