If you love earning airline miles, JetBlue Card allows you to do just that without having to pay any fees. Although this airline credit card offers a modest welcome bonus, those who are frequent flyers of JetBlue may find some value from it.

However, compared to other travel rewards cards — even its big brother, the JetBlue Plus Card — this card might come up short in perks for you.

So how do you know if this is the right credit card for you? Keep reading this JetBlue Card review for all the info you need to decide.

Who should get JetBlue Card?

Fans of JetBlue may like the convenience of a JetBlue branded credit card, especially one with a $0 annual fee. While it doesn’t offer as many travel perks as other credit cards, it does hold value for JetBlue loyalists. TrueBlue points can be used to travel on any JetBlue flight, international or domestic. They can also be used to book JetBlue vacation packages. And one big plus with the JetBlue card is that you’ll never have to deal with blackout dates if you use it to book your airfare.

If earning a valuable welcome offer is important to you, the JetBlue Card provides a decent bonus for a card with a $0 annual fee. However, you’ll earn much larger welcome bonuses with travel cards that carry an annual fee.

The JetBlue Card doesn’t come with a free checked baggage perk, which is unfortunate because baggage fees are often a sore spot for travelers. Most airline-branded credit cards do provide baggage perks. If you travel frequently with family and don’t fly JetBlue exclusively, this may not be the best airline credit card for you, but a different card might be a better option.

Earning & redeeming JetBlue TrueBlue points

Potential earnings in years one and two

Here's a look how your points can add up with The JetBlue Card. To calculate these values, we used a point valuation of 0.13 cents per mile.

Remember, this is an estimation. The actual value will be determined by how much you spend and in which categories you spend.

Year one earnings: $764.40

Year two earnings: $634.40

These values are based on the FinanceBuzz Credit Card Rewards Valuation Model which takes a look at points earned via spending, the welcome bonus, and the annual fee. In our calculations we did not assign all travel spending to JetBlue since we imagine you will spend with other airlines and brands. If, however, you do use this card for JetBlue purchases, you will see higher rewards earnings than what is reflected here.

Best ways to earn

Using your card to book flights with JetBlue or make in-flight purchases will help you maximize your points. You’ll earn 3X points for every dollar spent on JetBlue purchases.

What you may find more valuable, though, is using your JetBlue Card when dining out or buying groceries. You’ll earn 2X points for every $1 spent at restaurants and grocery stores.

Cardmembers also earn 1X points on all other purchases.

Categories Rewards rate
JetBlue purchases 3X
Restaurants and grocery stores 2X
All other purchases 1X

Maximizing your redemptions

The best way to redeem your TrueBlue points is for JetBlue flights. You can also use them to book flights on Hawaiian Airlines, a JetBlue partner.

In addition to using them for flights, you can redeem your TrueBlue points for JetBlue Vacations packages, donate them to charity, or use them to buy magazine subscriptions. There’s also an option to transfer them to another person.

While more versatile rewards cards offer broader redemption choices, this card is a good option for frequent JetBlue flyers who want to offset the cost of travel.

JetBlue Card FAQs

Is JetBlue Card worth it?

It depends. For JetBlue loyalists, this card may be a good option, and it’s $0 annual fee makes it worth considering. However, other travel credit cards do offer more perks and more versatile redemption choices.

Do you get a free checked bag with JetBlue Card?

No, there are no free baggage perks with JetBlue Card. JetBlue baggage fees for the lowest Blue fare are $30 for the first bag and $40 for the 2nd bag. The JetBlue Plus Card and JetBlue Business Card do both offer the perk of your first checked bag free though.

Other cards to consider

If a JetBlue credit card doesn't seem like the right choice for you, then there are some other credit card offers you should know about from other great credit card issuers.

Consider the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card. New cardmembers can earn a one-time bonus of 75,000 miles once you spend $4,000 on purchases within 3 months from account opening from account opening. Plus, you’ll earn 2 miles per dollar on every purchase, every day, 5 miles per dollar on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel and 5 miles per dollar on Capital One Entertainment purchases through 12/31/25. This card comes with an annual fee of $95.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is also worth considering if you intend to do a fair amount of traveling. It offers a competitive welcome bonus that lets you earn 60,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. Unlike the Venture Rewards card, the Chase Sapphire Preferred offers bonus categories for common types of spending that may help you rack up your travel rewards more quickly. And the long list of Chase transfer partners also makes it one of the most powerful travel cards out there.
