These companies value the experience of older workers, and they're hiring them in droves. It's a smart move to work at one of these companies if you want to build up enough extra cash for a stress-free retirement.

Few companies are as committed to hiring older Americans as H&R Block. AARP specifically highlights it as a company that upholds equitable training opportunities and offers flexible work, medical coverage, and retirement savings plans.

The company's seasonal tax preparation model is well-suited to workers over 50 who want part-time income without a year-round commitment, along with plenty of other managerial and sales roles.

United Health Group

If you have a background in healthcare or you're looking to get into the industry, UnitedHealth Group has made its intentions clear when it comes to hiring.

Humana is one of the most dedicated companies on the list when it comes to hiring older workers. The company runs a dedicated Mature Worker Initiative to recruit adults who have previously left the workforce.

It even maintains a "Jobs After Retirement" section on its careers site where returning workers can browse roles and get answers to Social Security impact questions. Current flexible openings include care coordinator and registered nurse case manager positions.

Home Depot

Walk into any Home Depot, and you'll likely see many older workers on the floor, proof that the company hires from all age groups.

Bottom line

Age discrimination is real, but the tide is turning. Older adults are projected to account for 57% of U.S. labor force growth through 2032, meaning employers who ignore workers 50-plus do so at their own risk. The companies on this list already know that.
