grafchitaru/Adobe porcelain little red riding hood characters

Current market value: $949.95

The tale of Little Red Riding Hood has been told around the world, a fact that might make this Hull cookie jar worth a little bit more. The beloved — but scary — children's tale inspired the jar, a girl skipping along with her red hood on.

You want to be more careful with these ones, as reproductions have been made and circulated that are incredibly similar to the originals.

Hull's Little Red Riding Hood collection includes a creamer jar, sugar bowl and lid, an open sugar bowl, a teapot and lid, and more. There is a cookie jar currently listed for almost $1,000, but most of these jars have been known to sell for between $300 and $500.

The popular ceramics company began production on its Poppytrail line in 1934. You can find this rare, charming piece for a few hundred dollars online.

1973 Holt Howard Tiger 'Friends' Cookie Jar

watcherfox/Adobe Variety of cookies in three glass jars

Current market value: $15,999.99

This 1973 Tiger cookie jar was featured on the iconic show Friends. It has exploded in popularity in small part because of that, and because the Holt-Howard company is no longer in operation. As such, there are a couple listed for more than $15,000 on eBay.

While the jar used on set broke, you can usually tell that it is an original jar and not a recreation by the stamp and copyright information that should appear embossed on the jar.

Additionally, if your jar is not painted yellow on the underside of the lid, this is another sign that you may be holding a cookie jar that could be worth a small fortune. Selling this while it is still popular is a great way to keep more cash in your wallet
