Casey’s Is Opening 80 New Locations by 2026 (Will You Get One?)

Casey's, the Midwest's favorite convenience store chain, continues to hit the gas pedal on expansion.

The plan outlines at least 80 new locations to be built by the end of next April, offering late-night pizza runs and quick fuel fill-ups to help you keep more cash in your wallet.

Casey's General Stores, Inc. is currently headquartered in Ankeny, Iowa, near Des Moines.

The company started in 1968 in Boone, Iowa, before expanding to other small towns in Iowa and adding spots outside the state's borders.

Casey's continues to support local communities, with many of its locations in towns of 5,000 residents or less.

Casey's is the fifth-largest pizza chain in the country and one of the largest convenience store chains in the U.S. 

Casey's currently has more than 2,900 locations in the United States across 20 states, and it plans its future expansion to include more spots for Casey's.

The company has more than 500 locations in its home state of Iowa as well as its neighboring state of Illinois.

Casey's locations are concentrated in the Midwest, with additional locations in a few southern states, such as Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida, and Texas.

Last week, Casey's announced that it plans to increase its reach by adding at least 80 stores to its company in the next fiscal year. 

The retailer hasn't announced where those stores will be located. However, they will emerge through a mix of new store construction, mergers, and acquisitions. 

This announcement follows the completion of 270 new stores, either built or acquired by Casey's, in fiscal year 2025, which ended this past April. This was the highest number of new locations in the company's history. 

Casey's is primarily based in the Midwest, but its expansion plans include at least seven new locations in Texas, which are scheduled to be built by the end of 2025. 

This announcement followed the company's 2025 fourth-quarter earnings call, which reported a 12.4% increase in inside sales. The company also estimated a 2 to 5% growth in same-store sales within their stores next year. Casey's is also projecting an overall increase in EBITDA by 10% to 12% in fiscal year 2026. 

Fuel volumes are expected to either stay the same or slightly decline. However, with the new plans for development and expansion, Casey's plans to invest approximately $600 million in equipment and property for the 2026 fiscal year.
