Lowe’s Is Opening 5 Stores in 2025 (Is Your City Getting One?)

If you live near Maricopa, you're getting a Lowe's. This 139,000-square-foot store and garden center will launch its grand opening on July 25, 2025. Come for free food, swag, and vendor experiences. There will be a series of smaller community events the week before the main event.

This location can assist residents with projects ranging from repairing a broken water heater to designing a complete dream kitchen.

As of June 2025, Lowe's had already opened locations in the following cities:

• Asheville, North Carolina: 89 South Tunnel Road
• Magnolia, Texas: 4427 Magnolia Vlg Dr
• Fort Worth, Texas: 12980 U.S. Route 287
• Georgetown, Texas: 2301 N. I-35

Although plans have changed slightly since Lowe's published its initial growth strategy, the company shows no signs of slowing down. Lowe's initially stated that it wanted to open 10 to 15 locations annually over the next several years, which may still occur, starting in 2026.

This strategy also includes launching a marketplace platform, improving loyalty programs, and expanding home services and rural offerings. Here is some info on why more stores are opening and how the process works.

• Lowe's plans to extend its offerings to 150 more rural stores. These communities will find everything they need under one roof for their farms and homes.

• When selecting a new city, Lowe's considers the presence of potential professional and DIY customers. Other variables include homeownership rates, community trends, and population density.

• A real estate team researches and evaluates potential locations, considering hundreds of variables. Property acquisition and permitting are the next steps. The complete process can take anywhere from six months to two years.

• On average, the construction process takes about nine months from start to finish. Then, hiring begins, bringing 150+ jobs to the area.

Starting in 2022, Lowe's invested $100 million to restore and revitalize communities across the United States. Each year through 2026, Lowe's selects 100 large-scale community projects from nominations.

Lowe's trains its associates to assist customers in navigating the store and selecting items for their various projects. However, Lowe's is investing in the next level of customer service, leading the home improvement industry in AI. The company launched Mylow Companion, a virtual advisor that provides fast, helpful information.

Associates can ask questions like, "What kind of fertilizer works best for Bermuda grass?"

Lowe's will continue to focus on opening new stores nationwide, with big plans for the next several years. While additional locations have yet to be announced, the five locations scheduled and opened for 2025 so far paint a picture.
