Median annual salary: $159,405

Product managers are involved in the creation, production, and sale of the products their companies make. To land a fully remote gig, you would likely need to be involved with the production and sale of a digital product of some sort.

Data scientist

Median annual salary: $112,590

Data scientists remain in high demand, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projecting a 34% increase in employment by 2034.

The job involves using special analytical tools and techniques to gather and interpret data for their employers. Since much of the work is done in the office, it can easily transition to remote work.

Web developers and digital designers

Median annual salary: $95,380

Web developers and digital designers, sometimes called UX (user experience) or UI (user interface) engineers, are in high demand because they create the user experiences of websites and apps and help businesses build their reputations and customer bases online.

While they can work across industries, much of the work (if not all) is done from an office, which could very well be a home office.

Software developer

Median annual salary: $131,450

Software developers create and maintain the backend of computer apps and programs. Since they build the foundations, their average pay is slightly higher than that of UX/UI engineers.

That said, all three jobs can often be done in a home office with minimal complications.

Medical writer

Median annual salary: $80,364

Medical writers specialize in medical and health care topics and may be experts at translating complex medical information into easy-to-digest writing for everyday audiences. They can work for various employers, from pharmaceutical companies to universities, and plenty of writers freelance from the comfort of their home offices.

Registered nurse

Median annual salary: $93,600

Many assume medical professionals must work in person, but that's not always true. Many doctors and nurse practitioners now see patients via telehealth, especially those with certain specialties like psychiatry.

Marketing director

Median annual salary: $104,448

Though marketing directors may have to travel sometimes to meet with clients or attend events, this is another job that can be mainly done online in a remote setting. The BLS projects solid job growth for these professionals, who specialize in promoting their company's products/services.

Cloud solutions architect

Median annual salary: $150,241

Cloud architects manage their companies' cloud databases and develop cloud-computing solutions to help them work more efficiently, meet goals, and more.

Health services manager

Median annual salary: $117,960

Many health services managers work in health care settings, like hospitals or nursing homes. However, since their work involves coordinating and overseeing business activities for these health centers, much of it can be done from a home office.

The BLS also projects that these jobs will be in huge demand over the coming decade.

Granted, you have the right technology at home, but a cybersecurity analyst is another excellent, well-paying remote role. Their job involves planning and monitoring security measures for a company's networks, and these professionals are needed in many industries.

Special effects artists/animators

Median annual salary: $99,800

Creative types with video editing and animation skills, proper experience, and portfolios can land remote work as special effects artists/animators.

Since this is a highly skilled gig that pays well, talented artists can negotiate working from home.

Computer/information systems manager

Median annual salary: $171,200

Though computer and information systems managers are paid exceptionally well, the job often requires a degree and extensive experience. These managers oversee all computer-related activities for their company or client.

Like many tech gigs, it can easily translate to remote work if you have the proper setup at home.

Sales manager

Median annual salary: $138,060

The qualifications to become a sales manager vary. Some jobs require a degree, while others require specific skills and sales experience. Sales manager jobs sometimes require travel, but most work can be done remotely.

Bottom line

The idea that you need to be physically in the office to advance your career and get ahead financially is no longer true. 

While some industries may be cutting down on offering completely remote gigs, recent research indicates that about a quarter of paid full-time workdays in the U.S. are still done remotely (this accounts for remote and hybrid jobs). So, the jobs are there, and some pay quite well.
