These 7 Cities Are About To Get a Publix! (Is Yours One of Them?)

Shoppers in the South love Publix and head there to save money on groceries and other items.

The retailer is getting ready to open four new locations, including three in Florida, which is home to more than 60% of the company's current locations.

• 7655 Stadium Parkway

The new location on Stadium Parkway in Melbourne features a special design.

Shoppers can look for groceries on the first floor or enjoy an eating area on the second floor, where there will be space for both indoor and outdoor seating.

This is the second store with this special design in the area and will feature a total of 48,000 square feet of space for shoppers to enjoy.

• 19050 Corkscrew Road

Developers broke ground on The Shoppes at Verdana Village nearly two years ago with a plan to have Publix anchor the new shopping center.

The new store is open, giving shoppers 48,000 square feet of space to pick up fresh food, family meals, and more.

The shopping development has a total of 78,000 square feet of space for retail shops as well as potential space for restaurants or medical offices.

• 81 Alafaya Woods Blvd.

Not all Publix stores are new locations: Some simply close for a small amount of time to get a refresh.

One of those stores is the Oviedo location. The store was temporarily closed to make some changes, but it has now reopened for guests to enjoy.

• 1720 Gulf Shores Parkway, Suite 2

The new Publix location in Gulf Shores is replacing one grocery chain for another.

The store was built after demolishing the Winn-Dixie building that was in the same location. The new store will include around 25,000 square feet of retail space.

• 10640 Forest Hill Blvd.

This location in Wellington recently welcomed new customers to its new space with almost 40,000 square feet of shopping for loyal customers to enjoy.

• 1220 E Palm Drive

Homestead also opened a new location with almost 40,000 square feet of space for shoppers. The store also includes a Publix Liquors next door.

The newest Homestead location is the fifth Publix in the city for residents to enjoy.

• 1940 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.

The Homestead location opened the same day as a new Publix store in Sarasota.

The Sarasota store is the bigger of the two locations, with more than 48,000 square feet of space. It also has a Publix Liquors for shoppers to pick up alcohol after grabbing food from the store.

Publix is staying true to its Florida roots: Of the 12 new locations that have opened since Feb. 1, 10 are in the Sunshine State.

In March, the retailer also opened new locations in Hampton, Georgia, and Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
