At FinanceBuzz, we love a good side hustle, and you should buckle up for this one.

Ahead of the upcoming release of Fast X on May 19, we’re looking for someone to watch all 10 movies in the Fast & Furious franchise. That’s more than 20 hours of the NOS-fueled saga, during which you’ll track damages from all the car crashes. Our team will use your findings to estimate the insurance impact of the franchise’s reckless driving.

We’ll pay our Fast & Furious Claims Adjuster $1,000, plus $100 to cover the cost of any streaming fees, movie tickets, and snacks. As a bonus, you’ll get a healthy education about the value of family.

Why we want to pay you to binge-watch the Fast & Furious franchise

There’s no car-movie franchise more iconic than the Fast films, and with a box office gross in the billions, the series generates serious cash. But despite the star-studded cast, gearheads know the real stars of the movies are the cars.

At FinanceBuzz, we help people save money on their biggest expenses, including car insurance, and we wondered — what would that kind of driving do to your auto insurance costs?

To find out, we need help taking inventory of the accidents in the movies. We’re also curious if the number of wrecks in these moves has increased or decreased over the franchise’s history. That’s where you come in.

What you’ll get

If selected, you’ll get paid $1,000 for completing our movie marathon, plus $100 to cover the cost of any streaming expenses, movie tickets, and snacks. We know this will be more of an endurance race than a drag race, and you'll need to stay fueled during the effort.

The assignment

To be eligible for this side hustle, you must have the ability to rent or stream movies from your home and be able to watch Fast X in a theater. During each movie, we’ll ask you to note any car accidents that result in damage, including counting the number of accidents, extent of the damages, and what cars are involved.

We’ll use your notes as the basis for an upcoming FinanceBuzz story.

How to apply

If you’re already revving your engine for this role, fill out the form below and tell us why you’re the perfect fit.

Applications are due by May 19, 2023, at 11:59 Eastern. The chosen candidate will be selected by May 26, 2023, and contacted via email. The selected person will have two weeks to finish binge-watching the movies after selection.

Applicants must be based in the United States and at least 18 years of age. We will update this page to announce our newest team member, as well as share the final results.

Cancel your car insurance

We've got bad news. You could be wasting $500 every year on overpriced, second-rate car insurance. And you should probably cancel your existing insurance right now, because there's something much better.

This new tool from FinanceBuzz can tell you if you're overpaying for your car insurance in just a few clicks. We match drivers with companies that report saving drivers up to $500 or more per year when they save! Each driver’s savings will vary by driving history and how many discounts you’re eligible for. And once you try it out, you'll never have to look for affordable insurance again because we find you the lowest rates that other companies can't match.

Oh, and it's also free. And come on — you can't tell us you don't want to save up to $500. To find out if you're losing up to $500 or more a year, just enter your zip code here, answer a few questions and see if you're overpaying. It takes less than 2 minutes.
