Nurse practitioners perform many of the same tasks as doctors, such as ordering labs or X-rays, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing medications, and more.

Actuaries analyze risk and uncertainty. Most work for insurance companies, calculating the odds that an insurable event, such as a car crash or natural disaster, will occur.
They then help companies plan for these occurrences.
Computer and information research scientists

Computer and information research scientists collaborate with scientists and engineers to solve complex computing problems and develop theories or models to address them.
Their research can create technological advancements in areas such as robotics and artificial intelligence.
Physician assistants

Physician assistants play a role similar to that of nurse practitioners: they diagnose and treat patients, order lab work, and perform other duties typically performed by doctors.
However, physician assistants typically receive more generalist medical training and don't have the same level of autonomy as a nurse practitioner.

Veterinarians

As pet ownership rates have grown over the last decade, so has the need for veterinarians. These folks are trained to care for dogs, cats, and other animals.
They test for and treat diseases, perform surgeries, and euthanize animals when needed.
Health specialties teachers, post-secondary

Post-secondary teachers in the health care fields typically teach at universities, junior colleges, and medical schools. They also might teach in trade programs.

Lawyers
