Getting older gives you a different perspective on the price of nostalgia. There comes a point in every adult's life when we will shake our fist at the sky while lamenting getting rid of something that is now a valuable collectible.

The things that appreciate in value don't always make sense, either. In fact, the number one fast food giant in America might just have given you a valuable gift tucked away in an old box of your childhood toys. That McDonald's toy you got for a dollar in your Happy Meal is worth how much now?

See which vintage toys can put some extra cash in your pocket on the resale market.

Ty Teenie Beanie Babies

Market value: Highly Variable

The Beanie Babies collectibles market can vary based on nuances such as misprints and year released, but if you have one of the Teenie Beanies included in Happy Meals that has gone unopened all these years, it's almost certainly worth more than you paid.

These miniature Beanie Babies can sell for hundreds of dollars individually, and thousands for a full set. In 2026, a complete set featuring Britannia, Glory, Erin, and Maple sold for $2,500.

McDonald's 110 Film Camera and Polaroid 600

Market value: $100 to $500

There are a couple of McDonald 's-branded cameras that have been released over the years, but in 1997, the fast food giant released a camera shaped like French fries that utilized a 110 film format, which is the most collectible of the releases.

McD's also collaborated on a Polaroid camera that was not available in Happy Meals, but is worth even more. The bright yellow Polaroid 600 is branded with the logo on a yellow bar next to the flash, and it sells for about $400 to $500 on the resale market.

McDonald's Changeables

Market value: $100 to $200

Between 1987 and 1990, McDonald's released three sets of toys similar to Transformers that looked like various menu items. Complete sets of each series sell for roughly $100 to $200, but the market is currently seeing a surge because the iconic classic has just been re-released this year for a limited time.

McDonald's Minecraft toys

Market value: $50 — $300

Rarely has a Happy Meal toy rocketed in value so quickly as the Minecraft series. They were released in 2025 ahead of the movie premiere, and are still selling strongly on the resale market.

The toys also came with redeemable game cards that can be worth big bucks if you have a rare character. Cards that are graded and slabbed fetch the highest prices, but just about anything branded with both McDonald's and Minecraft is selling for high prices, including promotional displays and even the unopened sauce packets.

McDonald's Super Mario 3 interactive toys

Market value: $200 to $1,500

A full set of the unopened 1990 Nintendo game tie-in toys can reliably sell for more than originally paid; however, the big bucks are in the promotional displays. Complete with three figurines, these store displays have sold for about $900 to $1500 in 2026.

McDonald's Hot Wheels

Market value: $25 to $50

Hot Wheels first partnered with McDonald's in 1983, and getting that little toy car was a mere $0.69. The popularity of the brand combination has made it a regular partnership to bring toys to Happy Meals, and a complete set is a popular listing on eBay. The older the set, the higher the value. The highest prices are for toys still in the original, unopened packaging.

McDonald's McNugget Buddies

Market value: $100 to $300

Chicky Nuggy meets Potato Head was the Happy Meal toy that made a big splash in 1988, and then again in 1992, 1994, and 1996. They've come around again in the 21st century, but the old vintage sets are worth the most money. Complete sets in original packaging bring in the highest payouts, but even the opened ones can fetch over a hundred dollars for a complete set.

McDonald's Star Trek The Motion Picture

Market value: $15 to $25

The very first movie tie-in Happy Meal was for Star Trek: The Motion Picture in 1979. There were five different box designs, along with the traditional included toy, which was a walkie-talkie, a USS Enterprise ring, temporary tattoos, or a mini die-cut board game.

Individual pieces (including the boxes) sell for about $15 to $25 each, but a complete set can get a little bit more than the sum of its parts. And you never know how this item might grow in value over time.

McDonald's Fraggle Rock toys

Market value: $25 to $100

The 80's were a good decade for Happy Meal toys, and brought us the Fraggle Rock collection. A complete set of six figurines in original packaging sold for $100 at the beginning of 2026, but some can be found for as low as $25.

The set includes Gobo, Red, Monkey, and Wembley, along with a Gobo and Red designed for children under the age of three. There were also two test market figures released in a limited area that featured Doozers, which sell for about $50 each.

McDonald's My Little Pony Bookmarks

Market value: $20 to $150

McDonald's has launched a Happy Meal toy with every new generation of My Little Ponies, going all the way back to 1984. That first generation is the most valuable, with a full set of six pony bookmarks going for over $150 in the beginning of 2026.

The set includes Snuzzle, Cotton Candy, Butterscotch, Blue Belle, Blossom, and Minty. Each one sells individually for about $20 to $35 in original packaging, and slightly less if opened.

Bottom line

The first Happy Meals from McDonald's were inspired by a Guatemalan woman who created the "Ronald menu" to help mothers who were bringing their children to eat at the restaurant. This idea grew to fruition in the 1970s with specialized packaging and the inclusion of a small surprise "gift" toy.

The first toys were just little erasers, spinning tops, stencils, or bracelets, but the immediate popularity launched them into an iconic staple of McDonald's reputation that now has its own resale economy. Grabbing new and popular toys could be a way to make extra money online in a few years when the toys are no longer available.
