Fantastic Four #1
What collector wouldn’t want to have the comic book that’s said to have helped start the “Marvel Age of Comics”? Since it’s the first issue with one of Marvel's most famous teams, it makes sense that collectors would be willing to shell out up to $1.5 million for this one.
That’s how much a version in great condition sold for in 2022.
X-Men #1
A few of the comic books on our list have historical significance associated with them. X-Men #1, which collectors have priced at around $500,000, came about during an era of social change due to the Civil Rights movement. The X-Men reflected what was going on as the mutants struggled with bigotry and prejudice.
Some copies of this collector comic in good condition have sold for more than $10,000 on eBay.
Phantom Lady #17
Controversy can bring about big bucks. That’s the case with Phantom Lady #17. The cover shows the heroine in a skimpy superhero outfit. The cover was so controversial that it was mentioned in a book about how comic books harm society and kids.
The controversy made the issue famous and a copy sold for more than $450,000 in 2021.
