Shopping for insurance can be annoying. It's always smart to comparison shop for the best deal, but doing so directly with a handful of insurers can take a while and will almost certainly result in a flood of spammy emails, calls, and follow-ups via physical mail. That's where insurance comparison marketplaces like Insurify come in.
Insurify provides what we found to be a relatively seamless quote-generation experience. It gets very strong customer reviews and offers some advantages over competitors that just generate leads, not quotes. You must consent to receive marketing emails or text messages from Insurify to view your quotes, but you can opt out once those communications begin.
In general, if you're going to use an insurance marketplace, Insurify is a really solid option. It has a robust record of customer satisfaction and offers a clean, easy to navigate interface to review quotes across insurers.
How we evaluate products
FinanceBuzz researches a number of factors in each auto insurance provider to create our reviews. These factors include cost and discounts, complaints and customer satisfaction, coverage, and ease of use. We also gather information from sources such as Insurify, J.D. Power, AM Best, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), and the Better Business Bureau to ensure we provide the most useful information to our readers.
Insurify pros and cons
- Compare quotes across multiple companies
- Compare quotes at varying levels of coverage and coverage types
- Strong user experience ratings
- Must provide email and phone number to see quotes
- Quotes are estimates (final quote may vary)
How much does Insurify cost?
Insurify is an insurance marketplace, not an insurer itself. The quotes you get through Insurify will vary widely based on a range of factors as assessed by the insurers you're comparing.
There's no way of knowing what quotes you'll get until you go through the process, but Insurify claims that users can save up to $1,025 annually on auto insurance policies found through their platform. There are no fees to see your quote, and Insurify claims to work with insurers to offer exclusive rates and special discounts, but it doesn't provide more information than that on how they do so.
As you can see in the table below, insurance rates vary by both the type of insurance you have and the type of driver you are. Your age and driving safety record are just a couple of the many factors that affect car insurance rates.
Driver type | National average liability-only monthly premium | National average full coverage monthly premium |
Clean driving record | $105 | $192 |
Speeding ticket on driving record | $141 | $265 |
At-fault accident on driving record | $146 | $274 |
DUI on driving record | $166 | $313 |
Teen driver | $194 | $364 |
Senior driver | $85 | $160 |

How Insurify works
Insurify is a virtual insurance marketplace. Users can compare quotes from a variety of insurers for auto, home, renter's, and pet coverage. Insurify says it partners with more than 100 insurers, using AI and API integration to provide accurate quotes and discount opportunities.
You've got three options for comparing quotes on Insurify. You can go through the quote process yourself, choose your policy, and get coverage; or you can work with a live agent to review your quotes and get advice; or you can send Insurify information about your current policy, and their agents will work to find a better deal on your behalf.
I gave the do-it-yourself route a shot. If you choose this option, you'll be asked a series of questions, including whether you're currently insured, whether you rent or own your home, and information related to your car (year, make, model, where you park it, etc.).
Once you get through all that, you're asked to provide your email and phone number and click "View my quotes" to consent to Insurify sharing the information you just provided with insurers. You must also consent to receiving marketing emails, calls, and text messages from Insurify to receive your quotes. This consent does not extend to the insurance carriers from which you receive quotes, and you can opt out of Insurify's marketing communications.
Once this stage is complete, you're taken to the quote comparison page where you can review quotes from a range of insurers based on coverage type and limits. Selecting lower coverage limits typically results in lower car insurance rates, but be sure you're getting a quote for the level of coverage you actually need.
The process was quick and straightforward. I did get a follow-up email and text from Insurify not long after, which I immediately opted out of. Insurance marketplaces, like insurers themselves, are notorious for being spammy, though Insurify insists it's a no-spam operation. So far, it seems that my opt-out actually stuck.
Insurify vs. competitors
When comparing Insurify to its competing insurance marketplace platforms, it's not particularly useful to think about their differences in terms of price. The quotes you'll get on one platform and the quotes you'd get on another are dependent on too many different factors to make a one-to-one comparison.
Besides, there are a range of ways you can save money on car insurance regardless of where you find it. Instead, we recommend looking at the quote-generating experience when deciding which platform to use.
Insurify vs. The Zebra
Like Insurify, The Zebra offers users the chance to obtain and compare quotes from a range of insurance providers without having to pay a fee. As with Insurify, your quotes will vary based on your driving history, age, and other factors.
Overall, we found The Zebra to provide a relatively streamlined experience. One thing The Zebra does have over Insurify is the ability to compare quotes across a broader range of insurance. Insurify only offers auto, home, rental, and pet insurance quotes, whereas The Zebra offers all these and small business, commercial, and life insurance.

Insurify vs. QuoteWizard
Again, it's impossible to know how much more affordable a quote you'll be able to find using one insurance marketplace or another — there are just too many variables involved. But if Insurify isn't giving you what you're looking for, you could try QuoteWizard, a competing platform owned by Lending Tree.
The primary difference between Insurify and QuoteWizard is that you won't get any actual quotes through QuoteWizard — the platform is just a lead generator. We found that using Quotewizard to generate leads sometimes results in being connected to other insurance marketplaces rather than directly to insurers.

What customers are saying about Insurify
Company ratings:
- BBB: A-
- Trustpilot: 4.8 out of 5 stars
Insurify gets an excellent rating from consumers on Trustpilot, registering 4.8 out of 5 possible stars with nearly 5,000 reviews. Users reviewing Insurify on Trustpilot note that Insurify makes the insurance comparison and purchasing process "quick and seamless" and highlight the positive experience they had working with Insurify agents to complete their insurance purchase. Others noted how much they appreciate the ability to communicate with Insurify and finalize the quote process via text messaging.
Insurify is accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and earned an A- rating from the consumer advocacy organization. The significance of BBB rating and accreditation is up for debate, though, given that many companies choose not to engage with the group given the fees and other requirements associated with accreditation and a high rating. But Insurify's A- certainly isn't a mark against it, especially when considered alongside overwhelmingly positive customer reviews.

Which is better, Insurifty or The Zebra?
Insurify and The Zebra offer similar services. While it's unlikely one is necessarily going to find you better quotes than the other, given all that goes into setting insurance premiums, The Zebra does offer a greater array of non-auto insurance options, including life insurance and small business insurance.
How does Insurify make money?
Insurify works like a local insurance agent — it makes a commission on policies purchased through the platform or policies sold by partners via a recommendation made by Insurify. Insurify also earns money through clicks on ads placed on its site.
Insurify promises that it doesn't make money by selling user phone numbers or personal information to third parties and that by doing so, it minimizes the amount of spam you'll receive as compared to insurers and marketplaces.
Bottom line
Insurance marketplaces can make quick work of what's generally a frustrating process. Comparison shopping for insurance directly through providers is nowhere near as easy as using a comparison platform like Insurify.
Of the many options out there, Insurify receives largely positive reviews from its users. We likewise found the auto insurance comparison experience to be streamlined and quick. If Insurify is to be believed, using their platform should result in less spam than you'd get with other marketplaces and lead generators.
Even so, it's best to go into insurance comparison shopping via Insurify with an understanding of the best car insurance companies and what they offer so you can really feel out if you're getting a good deal.
