Macy's First-ever 'All Star Week' Attempts to Rival Prime Day With Special Summer Sales

Department stores are now competing with mega-corporations like Amazon to win customers by offering better sales, and Macy's has entered the chat. 

Macy's is launching its first-ever All-Star Week sales event to rival Amazon's Prime Day. The event runs from July 16-23 and will offer deals to all shoppers. However, members of Macy's Star Rewards will see additional exclusive offers. 

Joining the Macy's loyalty program as a bronze member is free, and you'll gain access to all those exclusive deals. 

As consumers have watched prices on everything rise, many have turned to side hustles for extra income to save for big-ticket items — and now could be the perfect time to spend that cash stash to get the best deals. Macy's is offering thousands of incredible summer deals July 16-23, and joining their Star Rewards program as a Bronze member is a free way to access all the best savings. 

Members will see exclusive deals on top of the deals to all shoppers and will get 10 times the points on top-name brands such as Dyson, Levi's, KitchenAid, Nespresso, and many more. 

They'll also offer online-only deals on the latest tech, so if you've been holding out for a new electronic gadget, you'll want to jump on their website July 16.

Target's Circle Week ends July 13, so you can still grab the tail-end of the savings extravaganza. Target launched its summer sales event a full week before Amazon's Prime Day sales hoping to capture shoppers early. Access to the deals does require joining their Circle membership program, but it's free to join to access the last of this year's deals. 

Amazon's annual Prime Day sales have captured shoppers, and this year's event runs from July 16-17. It requires Amazon Prime membership, but that comes with free and fast shipping and access to Prime Video services that offer thousands of movies and TV shows for streaming at home. 

Amazon offers sales leading up to the big event, but the best deals won't show until the sale starts. The savings cover every category, so it's great for everything from back-to-school to big purchases such as televisions or home appliances.

Amazon has dominated the market with its Prime Day sales for a few years, but other retail chains are creating sales events to stir up competition and offer more real deals and competitive prices to consumers. 

While Amazon has often taken the lead by providing the convenience of one-click orders and fast delivery, stores such as Macy's are also incorporating the ease of online shopping into their sales events. There are still plenty of in-store deals to be had, as well.
