You might typically need a bachelor's degree in graphic design or other certifications. However, for remote work, this role is well-suited if you have a strong online portfolio and personal projects to showcase.

Web developer

Media annual pay: $95,380

As the title suggests, these professionals help develop, build, and maintain websites and web applications. With technological advancements, web developers can work remotely for startups, agencies, and organizations as freelancers or contractors.

Education can range from a high school diploma to a degree; however, neither is a necessity. A strong portfolio of projects that showcases your skill set and experience will help you land such roles.

These professionals plan, review, edit, and oversee content operations for businesses, media companies, and publications. They were usually writers before this and can understand content writing, structure, and grammatical issues based on their experience and training.
