These 28 Cities Are Getting a Trader Joe’s in 2025 (Is Yours One?)

What most consumers want from a grocery store is delicious food that is easy to prepare and reasonably priced, which is one of the key appeals of Trader Joe's.

You can boost your savings when shopping at Trader Joe's while also getting access to unique flavors and easy-to-make meals. The store is also constantly rolling out new products and providing samples, so customers can purchase with confidence that they'll enjoy it just as much at home.

However, the biggest problem with wanting to shop at Trader Joe's can be finding one near you. The good news is, they're expanding this year, so even more Americans will have access to the pleasant shopping experience this store offers. Could a new location be opening near you?

• Goodyear: N. Bullard Ave. and McDowell Rd.

Arizona currently has 18 locations serving the state, and it's about to get a new one. There's no official opening date for the new store, but we know the location is scheduled to open in a shopping center where Black Rock Coffee Bar and Firebirds Wood Fired Grill are also set to open in 2026.

• La Verne: 2330 Foothill Blvd.
• Yucaipa: 31545 Yucaipa Blvd.

Another new location recently opened in Sherman Oaks, much to the confusion of locals, because it was across the street from an existing location that has been open since 1973.

According to locals, the reason for the proximity is about leasing. Trader Joe's allegedly didn't want to cancel their lease early, so they opted to keep both stores open until the lease ends, at which point they may permanently close in favor of the new building.

• Westminster: 9350 Sheridan Blvd.

Westminster TJ's had its grand opening at the end of July, and it is still hiring for the new location. This is the ninth Trader Joe's location in the state.

• Shelton: 801 Bridgeport Ave.

Another location in Connecticut has been confirmed through building permits for 46 Skiff St. in Hamden, although it has yet to be announced by Trader Joe's.

• Daytona Beach: 1511 Cornerstone Blvd.

A permit filed in May indicates Brevard County might be getting a TJ's soon, too. The permit is seeking construction for 2221 Town Center in the Avenue Viera, which is currently a Michael's craft store. There is no guarantee that this will come to fruition, though, as there have been signs before that did not result in a store.

• Peachtree City: 258 City Circle

There are no specifics for an opening date yet, but Trader Joe's has confirmed they expect to open the location sometime this year.

• New Orleans: 2501 Tulane Ave.
• New Orleans: 2428 Napoleon Ave.

TJ's is famously tight-lipped about releasing news, but locals can see the Tulane Ave location is completed, so an opening date is likely to be released very soon.

• Boston (West Roxbury): 2428 Napoleon Ave.
• Newton: 1165 Needham St.

Newton residents are slightly confused as to why they're getting a new TJ's just a few miles away from the one they already have, but two is better than none.

• Columbia: 201N. Stadium Blvd.

Permits were filed for a Trader Joe's in Columbia back in November. Locals rejoice, as it's now officially on the list of stores coming soon. It's set to be located in the former Macy's building.

• Woodbridge (Iselin): 675 US-1

This will be Trader Joe's 20th location in Jersey, so the eastward expansion of the California-based grocery store chain continues.

• Miller Place: 302 NY-25A Miller Place
• Staten Island: 6400 Amboy Rd.
• Glenmont: 388 Feura Bush Rd.

Official opening dates have yet to be announced. However, it is anticipated that all three new locations that are slated for New York will open sometime this year.

• Broken Arrow: 1451 E Hillside Dr.
• Oklahoma City: 6920 Northwest Expressway

Remember Party City? You won't after Trader Joe's moves into the former location of the bankrupt party store in OKC.

• Gresham: 2083 NE Burnside Rd.

Some news articles have incorrectly placed Gresham in Oklahoma. However, it's Oregon that's getting the new Trader Joe's. In fact, the city of Gresham is very proud of it.

The Mayor, Travis Stovall, said, "The arrival of Trader Joe's is a testament to the growing vibrancy and potential of Gresham," according to the Portland Tribune. The store is expected to open by the end of the summer.

• Exton: 125 West Lincoln Hwy.
• Berwyn: 550 Lancaster Ave.

Trader Joe's expansion strategy focuses on bolstering the brand in states where it already has a strong presence. The two new stores will bring Pennsylvania's Trader Joe's count to 15 stores throughout the state.

• Myrtle Beach: 115 SayeBrook Pkwy.

Trader Joe's announced their Myrtle Beach plans for a new location in April. There is no confirmed timeline for opening, though it's likely to be this year.

• Bee Cave: 12812 Shops Pkwy.
• McKinney: 8101 Eldorado Pkwy.
• San Antonio: 11745 I-10 W.

The new Bee Cave TJ's in the Austin area was actually scheduled for completion in June, but it appears to have suffered delays, as it is still marked as "coming soon" without a confirmed opening date. That's not the only location that suffered delays, as the San Antonio one was initially set to open on December 2 and is now expected sometime in 2026.

• Holladay: 1895 E. Rodeo Walk Dr.
• Ogden

The location of the new Holladay Trader Joe's broke ground in May when the application for a beer retailer license was approved. The location is part of a new development being built over the former Cottonwood Mall.

No specific location has been confirmed for Ogden yet, and it may end up being closer to Riverdale, but the area will be getting one soon.

• Virginia Beach: 220 Constitution Dr.

Virginia Beach is getting a second Trader Joe's, this time in the Town Center at Columbus Village. It will be located in the former Bed, Bath & Beyond building, which will also house a new sporting goods store.

• Friendship Heights: 5335 Wisconsin Ave.

An opening date for the new District of Columbia store has yet to be announced, but it is confirmed that they will be able to stock both wine and beer for local residents.

In the face of rising grocery prices and shrinkflation, consumers are increasingly turning to non-traditional grocery stores, such as Trader Joe's, to save money on groceries while still enjoying delicious food made from high-quality ingredients.

Last year, Trader Joe's opened 34 new stores nationwide, and this year, they are continuing their steady expansion. Most of the locations on this list aim for 2025 openings, although some may be pushed to 2026. Either way, a new location may become available nearby before you know it.
