Bad news, ice cream lovers: Your favorite summer treat may have just been recalled for listeria contamination, a bacteria that can cause serious illness in humans.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), listeriosis, which causes flu-like and intestinal symptoms, has a fatality rate of 20% — so if you've purchased one of the recalled products, you deserve a refund. Getting your money back should be as simple as returning the item to the place of purchase, and no additional procedures should be required.

The company responsible for this is Totally Cool, which produces several high-profile ice cream brands, and they have offered to address any consumer difficulties. They can be contacted by phone at (410) 363-7801 or via email at regulatory@totallycoolicecream.com.

Read on to see what brands and products that have been recalled and to get your money back.
