Party City Is Closing These 36 Stores in 2023 (Is Yours One of Them?)

Party City — where people go to purchase party supplies, hopefully at prices that allow them to keep more money in their wallets — is closing many store locations throughout the country.

Last January, the party supply chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in a bid to restructure its debt.

State by state, here’s a list of all 36 Party City locations that have closed doors or will be closing.

California is home to the largest number of Party City store locations. Four of the Golden State’s 108 store locations are closing, including two stores in Los Angeles County and one in the Bay Area.

• Downey: 7171 Firestone Blvd.
• Lodi: Southwest Plaza, 2350 W. Kettleman Lane
• Marina: The Dunes on Monterey Bay, 125 General Stillwell Drive
• Palmdale: Amargosa Commons, 39451 10th St. W.

While the Stamford location has closed, don’t worry. There are still many Party City locations close by, including 11 other Connecticut stores.

• Stamford: Ridgeway Center, 2255 Summer St.

Georgia has permanently closed two Party City stores. But its two dozen other retail locations in the state are still open, including four stores in Atlanta.

• Rome: 2702 Martha Berry Road
• Cartersville: Cartersville Crossing, 451 E. Main St.

It’s somehow fitting that Iowa’s Party City is meeting its Waterloo at the Crossroads Commons Shopping Center in Waterloo.

The Hawkeye State does have six other store locations you can still visit, including two in the Des Moines area.

Illinois has closed its Party City location in Bradley, but dozens of other store locations remain intact.

• Bradley: Bradley Commons, 2060 N. State Route 50

One store location has closed in Indiana, but more than a dozen Party City locations are still open for business in the state.

• Noblesville: Stony Creek Marketplace, 17160 Mercantile Blvd.

Mardi Gras revelers, relax: The New Orleans location of Party City is staying put — and stocked with haint paint and plenty of plastic beads. The Slidell location has closed, but the Mandeville store is just a 25-minute drive away.

• Slidell: Stirling Slidell Shopping Center, 61119 Airport Road

Numerous sources have reported that the Saugus location will be closing. But for right now, doors are still open, and Saugus is listed on Party City’s regularly updated directory of stores.

Before you head out to this store, it may be best to call ahead.

• Saugus: Sherman Plaza, 1160 Broadway Space #1160C

Michigan has closed four store locations throughout the state, but nearly two dozen locations remain open.

• Holland: Felch Street Shopping Center, 3050 Beeline Road, Suite 20
• Fort Gratiot: 4047 24th Ave.
• Benton Harbor: Fairplain Plaza, 1040 Fairplain Drive
• Jackson: Jackson Crossing, 1510 N. West Ave.

In Missouri, three Party City locations have closed throughout the state. But you can still find all the festive decorations you need for your next barbecue fête. Many locations remain open throughout the state, including six in the Kansas City area.

• St. Joseph: East Hills Shopping Center, 3702 Frederick Ave., Suite L12
• Belton: Belton Gateway, 541 E. Markey Parkway
• Walker: Alpine Summit, 3175 Alpine Ave. NW

With headquarters in New Jersey, Party City has a vast footprint in the Garden State. However, the West Paterson location has closed.

• West Paterson: Mcbride Lenox Plaza Shopping Center, 1756 Route 46

New York has closed doors to seven Party City locations, but you can still shop at dozens of other locations throughout the state.

Most store closures are in New York City, but plenty remain open throughout the Manhattan, Bronx, and other boroughs.

• Bronx: Throggs Neck Shopping Center, 815 Hutchinson River Parkway
• Bronx: Broadway Plaza, 171 W. 230th St.
• Buffalo: Boulevard Consumer Square, 4090 Maple Road
• Irondequoit: Culver Ridge Plaza, 2255 E. Ridge Road
• Manhattan: 223 W. 34th St.
• Manhattan: 301 W. 125th St.
• Staten Island: The Boulevard, 2636 Hylan Blvd.

The Party City location in Lancaster has closed, but many locations in Ohio cities remain open, including 12 in Cleveland, four in Cincinnati, and 13 near Columbus.

• Lancaster: River Valley Plaza, 1320 River Valley Blvd.

Oklahoma has closed Party City stores in Midwest City and Lawton, but Oklahomans can still shop at stores in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman, Owasso, and Edmond.

• Midwest City: Sooner Rose, 5825 SE 15th St.

Oregon’s Party City location in Corvallis has closed, but its other three stores are open in Clackamas, Medford, and Beaverton.

• Corvallis: Circle 9 Shopping Center, 944 NW Circle Blvd.

The Lone Star State has closed one Party City location in Corpus Christi, and there are reports of two more store closures in Garland and San Angelo.

Still, Texas has stores open in cities across the state.

• Corpus Christi: Five Points Shopping Center, 4101 Highway 77, Suite K2
• Garland: 3065 N. President George Bush Turnpike
• San Angelo: Sunset Shopping Center, 4141 Sunset Drive

Party City has closed two of its three store locations in West Virginia. The state still has one location open in Clarksburg at 526 Emily Drive.

• Beckley: Raleigh Mall, 4283 Robert C. Byrd Drive
• Martinsburg: Martinsburg Mall, 800 Foxcroft Ave.

Party City may be closing a few dozen stores, but the retailer still has hundreds of locations across the country that remain open.

If your Party City location is no more, there’s probably another location close by. If not, start scoping out your local dollar stores — they usually have a decent selection of streamers and mylar balloons at prices that will allow you to boost your bank account.
