Southern California-based chain Stater Bros. has 171 locations in the state for a reason. Known for their fresh meat selection, their sushi is no different.

People in the know have been flocking to Whole Foods for fresh sushi for years. Since the chain is known for their premium ingredients, their sushi will cost you more than other grocery store sushi, but you’ll still be saving on tax and tip you would’ve spent dining out.

Publix has been known to provide some pretty stellar pre-made deli options at wallet-friendly prices — including their sushi.

Another great perk? They have $5 sushi roll deals on select items on Wednesdays. One Redditor says, “For the price, it's super yummy, and I agree with another poster who said it's all about the chef.”

Iowa-based midwest grocery chain Hy-Vee has some phenomenal sushi in its grab-and-go section.

Some locations even offer a Sushi Bar now, where chefs make your meal in front of you, just like at a restaurant.

The fun part about sushi at Sam’s Club? They sell it in bulk at reasonable prices. Redditors will widely admit that while the quality of the sushi isn’t at restaurant level, it’s fully worth the convenience and price.

“I actually really enjoy the sushi they sell,” admits a Reddit user. “I get that big platter all the time for my family of 3 to share for dinner. Haven't had one I didn't like yet!”

Because of its accessibility and popularity, Kroger has become the biggest seller of sushi in the United States. Some of the most popular rolls include the cooked California Crunch Roll and the raw Rainbow Roll.

On Wednesdays, many locations even host a $5 sushi deal,  making it the best day to try a variety of rolls at an unbeatable price.

Says one Reddit user, “For those who are in Texas, I strongly recommend the sushi from H‑E‑B. It’s a million times better and best of all it’s made fresh in store. And more variety, too!”

The deli section offers pre-packaged sushi options, as well as themed sushi party trays for upcoming events.

New England-based grocery chain Market Basket has been touted for having pretty heavenly sushi options. “The Market Basket near me has a sushi chef making fresh sushi all day so you know it's fresh, and the quality of the fish is pretty good,” exclaims one Reddit user.

“The sushi is pretty good,” admits another Redditor.

Surprisingly, some Target locations sell pre-made sushi in their delis and refrigerator aisles. The rolls are slightly less expensive than their restaurant counterparts. The Hissho Sushi Krispy Krab Roll is a popular option.

“I've had it quite a few times at the store up the street (a Super Target),” explains one Reddit user. “Never had a bad experience, it's very good, and it's decently priced.”
