Who should get the Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Card?

The Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Card is for small business owners who travel frequently and stay at Wyndham hotel properties often. And with nearly 9,000 properties worldwide, there’s no shortage of places to book paid or Wyndham award nights.

The Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Card is a Wyndham hotels co-branded card, so the most lucrative way to earn and use points is to book stays at the hotel’s properties. If you don’t book accommodations with the hotel chain at least a few times a year or prefer to use your rewards at other hotels, the Earner Business card probably isn’t for you.

The card’s unique rewards structure is geared toward businesses that spend a lot on marketing and advertising, so it might not appeal to sole proprietors and small business owners that don’t pay to promote their business.

Earning & redeeming Wyndham Rewards

Potential earnings in years one and two

Here's a look at how your points can add up with the Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Card. To calculate these values, we used a point valuation of $0.011.

Remember, this is an estimation. The actual value will be determined by how much you spend and in which categories you spend.

Year one earnings: $874.10

Year two earnings: $379.10

These values are based on the FinanceBuzz Credit Card Rewards Valuation Model, which looks at points earned via spending, the welcome bonus, and the annual fee.

The values above only account for general travel spending, not spending at Wyndham properties. If you pay for Wyndham hotel stays with your card often, you’ll get significantly more value in years one and two. The 15,000-point anniversary bonus also isn’t factored into the amounts above.

Best ways to earn

Points are earned with the Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Card through spending categories that make sense for some businesses but probably won’t be helpful for others.

The highest bonus category rewards rate, 8X points per dollar spent, is reserved for eligible Wyndham Hotel and gas purchases. If your business operates a fleet of vehicles, you could bank tons of points on purchases you’re already making.

Another way to earn points with your Wyndham business card is through eligible marketing, advertising, and utility purchases, which earn 5X points per dollar spent. This benefits companies that regularly spend on digital marketing and media platforms. Your business is rewarded handsomely each month on money spent on expenses like electric, gas, telecommunications, cable, and more. All other purchases net 1X points per dollar spent.

Categories Rewards rate
Eligible Wyndham Hotel and gas purchases 8X
Eligible marketing, advertising, and utility purchases 5X
All other purchases 1X

Maximizing your redemptions

Points earned with the Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Card are redeemed through the Wyndham Rewards program. Like most of the best hotel credit cards, your points have the most value when used towards free stays. Wyndham has three tiers for free night redemptions — 7,500, 15,000, or 30,000 points per room. You can redeem points for award stays at:

  • Wyndham Hotels & Resorts
  • Wyndham Vacation Clubs
  • Caesars Rewards hotels
  • Vacasa vacation rentals
  • Cottages.com rentals
  • Landal GreenParks

Discounted nights, using points and cash are also available, with redemptions starting at just 1,500 points.

Hotel stays aren’t the only redemption available through Wyndham Rewards. You can also redeem your points towards tours and other activities when traveling, merchandise through Wyndham’s online shopping catalog, gift cards, charitable donations, fuel discounts at Marathon Gas stations, and through the program’s transfer partners. Points values vary depending on the redemption you choose.

Wyndham Rewards® Earner℠ Business Card transfer partners

As mentioned, you can transfer your Wyndham points to the hotel chain’s transfer partners. Wyndham partners with several airlines as well as other programs to offer more flexibility with its rewards program. Wyndham airline partner programs include:

  • Aeromexico Club Premier Miles
  • Air Canada Aeroplan Miles
  • Air China PhoenixMiles
  • American Airlines AAdvantage Miles
  • Avianca LifeMiles
  • China Eastern Miles
  • Fortune Wings Club Kilometers
  • Frontier Airlines FRONTIER Miles
  • PAYBACK Points
  • Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles
  • United MileagePlus Miles

Transfers to airline partners start at 6,000 points.

Club Wyndham timeshare owners have the option to redeem points to partially pay for fees incurred throughout the year, including:

  • Club Wyndham Plus assessment fees
  • RCI Domestic or International exchange fees
  • Worldmark by Wyndham dues
  • Shell Vacations Club maintenance fees
  • Vacation Sidekick annual dues

Wyndham Rewards points are also transferable to Caesars Rewards. Cardholders who choose this option can use Caesar Rewards points towards free play at any Caesar Rewards casino, meals at select restaurants, and tickets to various shows and events.

Keep in mind that you must have an account set up with a transfer partner to transfer your Wyndham Rewards points to that program.
