Star Tribune Media Company LLC

Filing deadline: July 5, 2024

Star Tribune Media Company LLC, the owner of Star Tribune papers, has agreed to pay $2.9 million in a class-action lawsuit.

The suit alleges that the company illegally shared subscribers’ information with Facebook, including video viewing history, in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act.

You can claim compensation if you had a Facebook account, a digital subscription to the Star Tribune, and viewed videos on its website.

Hyundai (Kia)

Filing deadline: July 15, 2024

Hyundai, the parent company of Kia, has agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit related to Kia engines having a defect that can cause issues including seizing, stalling, and possibly catching on fire.

Qualified applicants will have owned or leased certain models made by Kia with model years 2010 to 2020.

You can check the Kia class-action lawsuit website to see if your car qualifies for compensation as part of the lawsuit.

Unilever (Suave deodorant)

Filing deadline: July 15, 2024

Unilever has agreed to pay a settlement regarding its Suave antiperspirant deodorant after the product was found to have elevated levels of a carcinogen called benzene.

You can file a claim to get part of the settlement if you bought Suave 24-Hour Protection Powder Aerosol Antiperspirant or Suave 24-Hour Protection Fresh Aerosol Antiperspirant between January 2018 and March 2024.

Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret

You may be able to take part in a class-action settlement if you bought products at Bath & Body Works or Victoria’s Secret between May and August of 2021.

The stores violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA) by printing too many numbers from your credit card on their receipts.

If your claim is accepted, you can receive a voucher for up to $15 to use for a single purchase at one of the stores.

Seresto

Filing deadline: July 23, 2024

Seresto makes flea and tick collars for pets that were part of a class-action settlement agreement, and you can receive compensation if you purchased one of these collars.

The company allegedly falsely marketed the collars as providing eight months of protection while also not disclosing that the product had health risks for pets that wore them. If you purchased Seresto products prior to July 8, 2024, you might be eligible to take part in the action and receive compensation.

Uber

Filing deadline: July 29, 2024

Uber drivers who used the driver app while working in New York could be eligible for a class-action compensation.

Drivers who used the app between November 2014 and May 2017 may have had additional sales tax and fees taken out of their pay by the company.

You can check the website for the settlement with the New York State Attorney General’s office to see if you qualify and what you need to do to get compensated as part of the settlement.

Lyft

Like Uber, Lyft also allegedly had issues with taking additional sales taxes and fees from its drivers’ pay, possibly making you qualified for compensation.

The settlement covers Lyft drivers from October 2015 to July 2017.

You can check online with the New York State Attorney General’s office to see if you qualify and find out how to file a claim as part of the settlement.
