Credit Saint

OUR VIEW

Hiring a credit repair company to fix your credit is a big decision because it’s a significant investment. If you’ve tried fixing your credit yourself with no luck, the aggressive representatives at Credit Saint may have better luck. They know how and what they can argue, while also helping you maximize your positive credit to further build your score, but at a cost. Because there’s no guarantee that what they try will work, I would only use this option if I’ve had no luck improving my credit myself.

Pros

Sends custom disputes rather than generic letters to different creditors
Customers can see the company’s progress in their portal
Offers a 90-day money back guarantee if you don’t see results within three months

Cons

Credit Saint can’t do anything that you can’t do yourself when disputing errors
How we evaluate products

How does Credit Saint work?

Credit Saint describes itself as a credit restoration specialist that ranks high in aggressiveness when challenging negative credit information. They help people nationwide who are working toward a good credit score.

Like most credit repair companies, Credit Saint works to raise your score by challenging information on your credit report.

But what does that mean? They can’t remove accurate information, negative or not. But they can remove negative information that is:

  • Inaccurate
  • Outdated
  • Biased
  • Incomplete
  • Misleading
  • Unverifiable

Even though you can dispute credit report errors and negative information yourself, Credit Saint uses credit restoration professionals who know what to say and how to say it to get information off your credit report.

However, they not only attempt to remove negative information from your credit report, they teach you how to make the most of your positive credit too. For example, they may review your payment history and teach you how to improve it, or help you understand which accounts you should keep open or close to maximize your score.

Credit Saint offers a free credit evaluation to start. This consultation helps you understand the credit damage you have and what they can do to help fix it. It will also help you determine which plan best suits your situation, and they can begin to help repair your credit.

Is Credit Saint Worth the Cost?

Credit Saint’s pricing is similar to that of its competitors, such as Lexington Law, which charges $99.95 to $139.95 a month. However, if I were to use a credit repair company, I’d likely choose Credit Saint because they offer customized credit dispute letters versus most competitors who use generic letters to every creditor, no matter the situation.

Because you can cancel Credit Saint at any time, you don’t have to worry about losing money or being stuck in a lengthy contract. Plus, if they don’t provide any results within 90 days, you can get your money back.

If you haven’t had luck dealing with creditors yourself, it can be worth the cost to have a professional fight for you. With their extensive knowledge and experience, they may be able to have the issue resolved much quicker.

Credit Saint features

Features that every Credit Saint plan includes are:

  • Access to Credit Saint online: Every client gets access to an online page that has a timeline and progress report where you can track efforts made on your behalf to improve your credit. The online account page also provides a credit analysis to help you understand the key factors affecting your credit score so you can learn to create habits that will form a more positive credit history.
  • Score tracker: Every 45 days, you’ll receive your updated credit scores from all three credit bureaus. This helps you see the progress, and determine if the plan is working.
  • Score analysis: A score is just a number, but the score analysis helps you understand why you have your current score and what you can do to improve it.
  • Credit intervention letters: Credit Saint may intercede with your creditors, to limit the damage they do to your credit score and to negotiate a payment plan.
  • Online chat: All customers have access to Credit Saint’s online chat 9 AM - 7 PM EST, Monday through Friday.
  • Cancel anytime: You can cancel your account at any time and your service will continue through the month you paid. They do not offer prorated refunds.

What you should know before working with a credit repair company

Before signing up with a credit repair company, consider these tips:

  • Never pay upfront; if they don’t offer a free consultation or provide insight on what they offer before demanding payment, look elsewhere
  • Credit repair companies cannot remove legitimate information from your credit report; they can only fight inaccurate or unfair information
  • No credit repair company can guarantee results; if it seems too good to be true, it likely is
  • Only work with companies that you research and contact; if they contact you, it is likely a scam

Is Credit Saint legit?

Yes, Credit Saint is a legit company. They’ve been BBB accredited since 2007, and have a 4.28 out of five-star rating with 50 complaints in the last three years.I rely on the Better Business Bureau to help me determine if a company is legit, and Credit Saint has an A rating.

What Credit Saint customers are saying

Most of the customers who left reviews on the BBB website were happy with the services Credit Saint offered. Most people agree the services warrant the prices they charge and that the customer service is superb. Some reviewers claim their credit score improved by 200 points using Credit Saint, but that isn’t the norm.

Not every customer was pleased, though. One customer gave the company a one-star review as they saw no improvement after six months of paying fees. That customer also noted dissatisfaction with the company's automatic follow-up calls.

FAQs about Credit Saint

Is Credit Saint a good company?

Credit Saint is one of the better credit repair companies available. They are not a scam and they offer a 90-day money-back guarantee if you don’t see results within that time. They also have an A rating with the BBB. However, before working with any credit repair company, you should consider whether you can tackle the task of disputing negative information yourself rather than paying a monthly fee for a company to do it for you.

Where does Credit Saint do business?

Credit Saint is available in most states, except South Carolina.

How much does credit Saint cost?

Credit Saint costs between $79.99 and $139.99 per month, depending on which credit repair package you select. There is also a first-month setup fee of either $99 or $195, depending on the level of services you choose.

Does Credit Saint have a money-back guarantee?

Credit Saint offers a 90-day money-back guarantee. Although it doesn’t promise to fix your credit within 90 days, you can get a refund if the credit repair service does not remove any questionable items from your credit history within the allotted time.

Credit Saint review: bottom line

If you’re having trouble with your credit score and don’t understand why, Credit Saint offers affordable programs with a money-back guarantee. While I would recommend trying to dispute the errors or issues yourself, if your credit score is too low, or you don’t have the time to deal with frustrating collectors and vendors, a credit repair company may help.

Keep in mind that they cannot get anything removed illegally. The information must be inaccurate, unfair, or fraudulent for a credit repair company to remove it. In addition, once you repair your score, it’s important that you understand how to manage your money properly to avoid problems in the future.
