Freecash

Freecash is a good platform to earn Amazon gift cards, especially if you like to switch tasks frequently. Users can download games, take surveys, and complete other tasks while getting paid for their time.

Freecash has a lot of games to choose from, and you earn coins by downloading games and reaching certain levels. However, Freecash places some users in Lite Mode, limiting the games and surveys you can participate in and, therefore, your earnings.

The site offers a $5 bonus for signing up, one of the most generous I’ve seen. But, you cannot withdraw the bonus until you earn $20. If you forfeit your bonus, the minimum withdrawal drops to $5.

Freecash offers multiple payout methods, including gift cards to Amazon and other stores, bank transfers, and PayPal withdrawals.

Withdrawing your earnings on Freecash is best via a gift card. The site charges a 5% processing fee on withdrawals via PayPal or bank transfer, but it does not charge a fee for gift cards.

Cash Giraffe

Cash Giraffe is only available on the Google Play Store for Android devices. Players earn gems for downloading games and reaching different levels in each game.

While the game selection isn’t quite as good as Freecash, you can earn some extra cash if you enjoy playing the games Cash Giraffe offers. However, you’ll need to let Cash Giraffe track your game usage by tracking your usage data.

You’ll also need to earn a lot of gems before qualifying for a gift card.

Cash Giraffe rewards users who cash out via Amazon gift card over other stores. For example, a $5 Amazon gift card requires 46,594 gems, and a $10 gift card costs 92,256. However, a $5 Starbucks gift card takes 47,065 gems, while $10 costs 93,188. So, trading your gems for Amazon gift cards is more effective than requesting other merchant gift cards or PayPal withdrawals.

Scrambly

Like other apps on this list, Scrambly helps players earn money by collecting coins for playing games, downloading apps, or completing different tasks. It is only available for Android, but iOS users can access the site through a web browser.

Some of the tasks on Scrambly don’t earn much compared to a site like Freecash. However, I like that Scrambly rewards you for downloading and using apps you may already be interested in. For example, it offers 6,000 coins (about $6) for using the Capital One Shopping browser extension. It also provides 10,000 coins (worth $10) if you refer a friend and they sign up.

Scrambly requires a $1 minimum withdrawal (1,000 points), and you can cash out via Amazon, Visa, or Google Play gift cards, among others, as well as PayPal or bank transfer.

Rewarded Play

Rewarded Play is a mobile app that lets you earn points toward gift cards by playing games like Monopoly Go, Cake Sort, and others. First-time users of Rewarded Play are often offered a set of tasks that will earn them a new user bonus big enough to reach the platform’s minimum cashout threshold of $5.

However, you may find it difficult to get much out of Rewarded Play beyond that new user bonus. Our reviewer found that, after earning the bonus, it became clear that a much greater time investment would be required to hit cash out again.

In addition to Amazon, Rewarded Play offers gift cards from 30 different retailers including Walmart, Home Depot, and Best Buy.

Cash ‘Em All

Cash ‘Em All is another Android-only app for earning cash (rewarded in-app as redeemable coins) by playing games. How well you play those games is largely irrelevant — instead, you get paid for every minute you spend playing the app’s suggested games.

Cash ‘Em All has a notably low minimum withdrawal amount of $1. While it’s not the only app on this list with such a low threshold, users may enjoy the variety of games you get exposed to in the course of reaching the cashout threshold as you’ll earn less per minute if you restrict your play to one game.

Players can cash out to Amazon gift cards as well as PayPal, but the time investment required to earn any notable amount of cash is quite high. Our reviewer calculated that it would take 20.5 hours to earn a $20 Amazon gift card.

Of course, if the game-playing sites above don’t interest you, there are other ways to earn Amazon gift cards. Inbox Dollars and Swagbucks are two of my favorites.

InboxDollars

InboxDollars is available through an Apple or Android app as well as by web browser. It allows users to earn money by taking surveys, shopping online through a browser extension, playing games, and performing additional tasks through the InboxDollars site.

Each task earns points, which you can trade for gift cards to retailers like Amazon, prepaid Visa gift cards, and PayPal. However, a minimum withdrawal of $15 is required.

Swagbucks

Swagbucks is best known for its online shopping and surveys and remains among the best survey sites. However, it also offers other ways to earn money, such as downloading and playing games, although I found that downloading games is not as seamless as the game platforms above.

You earn Swagbucks for each task you complete, and 100 Swagbucks equals about $1. One of the things I like most about Swagbucks is you only need to earn 300 Swagbucks (about $3) to cash out gift cards. However, you’ll need at least 2,500 Swagbucks ($25) to cash out through PayPal, and receiving your PayPal or gift card can take up to 10 business days.

Bottom line

Finding the best games and platforms to earn Amazon gift cards can take trial and error, but many options exist. Unless you really like specific games, most people will do best with a site like Freecash, Scrambly, or Rewarded Play because of the variety of gamed task options. However, Swagbucks and InboxDollars can also be good options for people who want to do something other than play games.
