Fetch is one of my favorite receipt-scanning apps because all you have to do is upload your receipts after shopping. You can scan receipts from almost anywhere and earn at least 25 points. What I like the most is you don’t have to activate offers or shop at certain stores. If you do, there are opportunities for bonuses, but you’ll always earn at least 25 points per receipt.

Fetch offers hundreds of gift card options including to Amazon when you’re ready to redeem your points, making it one of the best apps to earn free gift cards.

All you have to do is browse through the mobile app and activate the offers you’ll use. After shopping, upload your receipt and you get credit. You can also link your store loyalty card for automatic credit.

If you like to shop online, you can also shop using the Ibotta browser extension or site. Just make sure you go to the store through the Ibotta app to get credit.

You must earn $20 before you can cash out your Amazon gift card, PayPal cash, bank transfer, or gift cards to other stores.

With this card, you can earn Unlimited 5% back at Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and on Chase Travel purchases with an eligible Prime membership, unlimited 2% back at gas stations, restaurants, and on local transit and commuting (including rideshare), and unlimited 1% on all other purchases. If you have some extra time on your hands and want to make money quickly, consider trying out Mechanical Turk (MTurk). The MTurk marketplace, run by Amazon, connects businesses and workers to help form relationships that benefit both parties. Businesses hire workers to complete “micro tasks." In my experience they were things like data entry, image and video processing, data verification, and data processing. MTurk pays workers in cash or Amazon.com gift cards.

Shopkick is a shopping rewards app that provides points, called kicks, when you do any of the following:

  • Shop online through the Shopkick app
  • Watch ads or answer survey questions

To earn cash back, simply sign up for a Rakuten membership and then click on the store you want to shop at through the Rakuten website or app. Rakuten will track your purchases and provide you with your rewards.

The cash back you earn through Rakuten can be redeemed for cash through PayPal, a mailed check, or Amex Membership Rewards points. Your cash back can’t be redeemed for gift cards, but you can use the cash or points you earn to buy Amazon gift cards yourself.
